Maharishi Institute of Management (MIM) was founded in 1995 in India to offer superior training in

THE INSTITUTE
There is and always has been a dramatic gap between
theory and practice, between wisdom to be found in books
and success in day-to-day business. Bridging this gap is an
effort in itself, costly both in terms of time and money for
any student. This is why the plea for a more pragmatic type

Maharishi Institute of Management was founded in 1995 to
provide an outstanding combination of opportunities and
experiences to equip its students for successful careers in
the 21st century. MIM is one of the first institutions to

MIM is established under the auspices of Maharishi Shiksha
Sansthan, a non-profit, autonomous Society, registered
under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. Maharishi
Shiksha Sansthan administers over 150 Maharishi Vidya

THE BASIS OF EDUCATION AT MIM- DEVELOPMENT OF
CONSCIOUSNESS AND CREATIVITY
The theoretical foundation and experiential basis of
education at M.I.M. is built on the knowledge that
consciousness is the most basic element in creation.
Everything in the universe is the expression of
consciousness.
Rk Veda declares that he who thinks and acts from the
unified field of consciousness is naturally served by Natural
Law, which is the infinite organizing power of consciousness.
From this it is clear that every educational institution must
impart the complete knowledge of consciousness to its
students. In order to be fully educated, students must know
the full value of consciousness intellectually and rise to
higher states of consciousness experientially. This will
deliver the fruit of all knowledge to students-the ability to
live mistake free life in enlightenment and daily life in full
accordance with all the Laws of Nature, with the
spontaneous ability to do everything right and thereby
achieves their goals. In terms of management, this means
the ability to engage the managing intelligence of Nature

Modern education is highly incomplete because it focuses
only on the known, the field of study, and excludes the other
two-thirds of knowledge. This leaves students adrift in a
constantly changing world of information while leaving
them ignorant of the most important field of knowledge, of
the self. Maharishi's Atma based Consciousness-Based
system of Education is complete education because it
attends to all three values of knowledge. Students not only
gain appreciation of the known, the field of knowledge
being studied but gain complete knowledge of the knower,
the self, and also of the process that connects the knower to
the known. Knowledge of these three together makes
learning relevant, useful and fulfilling and bestows upon the
students a happy, healthy life of success and achievement.
The experiential basis of Maharishi Consciousness Based
System of Education is the technology of consciousness-the
Transcendental Meditation program (TM). The TM
technique is a simple, natural, effortless technique that is
easily learned by anyone and is practiced for 15-20 minutes
twice a day, sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. It is not
a religion or philosophy. It does not involve moral training,
belief, or worship. Students at M.I.M. come from all walks of
life. During the Transcendental Meditation technique, the
mind settles down to the simplest form of awareness,
Transcendental Consciousness, the Se lf, where
consciousness is open to itself alone. The experience of
profound mental and physical relaxation in the TM practice
eliminates deep-rooted stresses and fatigue and brings
about the holistic development of mind, body and
emotions. The result is the increasing ability to achieve
success and satisfaction - in all fields of life without strain.
More than six million people of all ages, professions, and
religions have learned the Transcendental Meditation
technique throughout the world. Students consider the
practice of Transcendental Meditation to be a key factor in
developing their capacity to manage any organization
effectively.
All students of the Management program are instructed in
Transcendental Meditation upon enrolment and, after a few
months of practice, learn the TM-Sidhi program, including
Yogic Flying, which accelerates the growth of higher states
of consciousness.

MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA):
The M.B.A. course aims at providing inputs to the students
relevant to the business, industry and trade so that they can
function in different organizations and face the challenges
arising there from. The course not only aims at providing
knowledge and skills in different areas of management, but
also provides inputs necessary for the overall development
of the personality of the students. The structure of the
Course is designed in a way that students have to study the
core courses from different functional areas of
management that are made compulsory. Later on,
specializations are offered in functional areas where the
students can opt for two specializations out of the five
offered:
Marketing, Finance, IT, HR and International Business and
one Open Specialization, Right from the beginning of the
course, the focus is on providing relevant inputs through
case discussion/ analysis, simulation games, note plays etc.

The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) of
MIM, Noida offers Dual specialization (in industry oriented
areas like Banking & Finance, International Business, H.R.,
Marketing, Insurance and Retail) – is a totally innovative
program, aimed at meeting the basic needs of modern
organizations, which are knowledge-based, and infointensive. The program offers the students complete insight
into the contemporary developments in each subject. The
sectional program is of six trimesters duration and as a
participant in MIM's PGDM program you will:
Apply skill in problem definition and analysis to make
decisions in business situations.
l Learn how to assess yourself and to motivate others,
acquire shills in all the functional areas of management.
l
of 40 sessions each of one-hour duration. There is a system
of dual specialization and an Open Specialization. The
students will have to opt for two functional areas for their
specialization, having four papers (two in third semester
and two in the fourth semester) from Specialization 1, three
papers (two in third semester and one in fourth semester)
from Specialization 2. Students will also have to choose any
one elective from the given four subjects as an open
Specialization in fourth semester.
Summer Training for 6/8 weeks is compulsory for every
student pursuing the course, which they have to undergo
between second and third semester. Comprehensive viva
and Research project are part of the course.
PEDAGOGY
MANAGEMENT LECTURE SERIES
Corporate honchos and other members of the top
management from the corporate world are regularly invited
to the campus to speak on managerial issues. This helps
students gain insight into practical problems and become
better managers and broaden their perspectives.
The teaching methodology adopted by MIM is specially
designed to provide students with deep conceptual insights
and understanding of the practical areas and application.
The primary emphasis is on self-study, intense class room
discussions, case studies, quizzes, term papers, summer
internship, mid-term and final examinations, project workensuring a judicious blend of theory and practice. The use of
case studies helps students to develop skills necessary to
manage real life situations. The PGDM/M.B.A. course aims
at providing inputs to the students relevant to the business,
industry and trade so that they can function in different
organizations and face the challenges arising there from.
The course not only aims at providing knowledge and skills
in different areas of management, but also provides skills
necessary for the overall development of the personality of
the students.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
MIM attaches great importance to co-curricular activities
and encourages creative talents of students through
participation in various committees. These students
committees take care of:

Tremendous emphasis is laid towards developing the

campus the Institute's faculty conducts workshops,

The Placement & Training Cell of the MIM assists students
both in the summer projects and Final placement. For the

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
ELIGIBILITY
Students must have passed three year degree programme
from a recognized university in any discipline with 50 %
aggregate marks. Candidates appearing in the final year of
bachelor's degree are also eligible for the admission subject
to provide all certificates after passed from the recognized
university. They should also have appeared in any of the
qualifying exams of all India Management Competition viz
CAT/MAT/XAT ect.
Library is the major source of data and knowledge. Library
has a comprehensive collection of a books, journals,
magazines etc. We have books more than 9,000 volumes by
both Indian and Foreign authors in the area of all disciplines
related with the management programme having
computerized environment. In addition to this it has an
impressive collection of an educational CDs and Video
cassettes.
SELECTION PROCEDURE

Admission is through valid score of MAT or any other all
India management competition viz CAT/AIMS/XAT etc. and

The institute provides separate common rooms for boys and
