otivated by his dream to become the best sport fighter
in the world, Christophe PINNA began his martial
arts training in 1973 at the young age of five. His
persistence, dedication, and love for the sport of karate led him to
become the French Junior Champion at the age of 17 and the same
year he became European Junior Champion.
Christophe eventually returned to Nice, his place of birth, where
he was offered a prestigious athletic contract. During the next
few years, Christophe successfully dedicated himself to becoming
the best sport karate competitor in the world.
In 1993, Christophe won his first World Title at the Algerian
World Cup. One year later, in 1994, Christophe helped the French
team win the gold medal.
In addition to competing, Christophe also
desired to share his passion for karate. He
obtained his National Sports certification
as a 1st degree, and later, a 2nd degree educator.
Christophe was also received the ''Golden Medal of Sports'' by the
Minister of the French Sport Government.
At this time, Christophe was a rising star in international world
competition. In 1996 at Sun City, once again with Christophe's help,
France was able to bring back the world title for the second time. This
was followed in 1997 by a third consecutive victory for France in
Tenerife, Spain, where Christophe also became the European "open
class" champion. That same year, in Manila, Phillippines, Christophe
won yet another "open class" world title.
T
hen one year later, on October 16, 1998, in what was an absolutely historic moment for
both France and Christophe, France won the third consecutive World Championship
in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Upon returning to France, the French president, Mr.
Jacques CHIRAC, issued a decree awarding to Christophe the rank of knight with a
National Merit Order to crown his impressive sports career and his excellent contribution
to the sport karate. Mr. Henri SERANDOUR, President of the National Olympic and
French Sports Committee, also awarded
Christophe the high level of distinction in the
Olympic Committee.
On October 14, 2000, in Munich, Germany,
Christophe once again proved his supremacy
as a fighter by winning the "open class" World
Championship. At this point, Christophe
decided it was time to end his career as one of
the world's most elite karate athletes. His
efforts turned from fighting to teaching and he
began traveling throughout the world
conducting seminars. In January 2001,
Christophe returned to Europe to train the
Greek national team. In June 2001, Christophe
was appointed by the French Federation to be the French national trainer. In August
2005, Christophe Pinna resigned from his assignement as trainer of the French national
team.
Then he was solicited by the TV channel TF1 to give sports courses to the candidats of the
5th edition of the Star Academy. In November Christophe Pinna was nominated officer of
“The National Oder of Merit” by the French president. Presently,
being a world expert in karate, he teaching competition karate

he preparation of an athlete for a World Karate Championship is not an easy thing to do. It takes time and lot
of energy, trying to control a lot of physical, technical, tactical and emotional factors. The traditional
preparation in the dojo is not enough, it belongs to the past; now the modern methods that must involve
training tools that all the sports are using for preparing their athletes are more and more common into the training
of Karate athletes.
This is why an athlete must start his special training for an important event with minimum 6-8 months before,
starting with a predominant physical preparation and ending slowly with a concentration on tactic and mental
training. There are lot of “preparation receipts “ that a trainer could apply for its team and the best is for sure the
one that works ! WUKF is not only an organization that is trying to organize championships; WUKF is trying to involve
in the increasing of the general level of the competitors, coaches and referees. From the beginning WUKF Ex.Com.
invested lot of money and energy by offering free seminars to all. This was a part of our strategy of development
reinvesting the money collected from the members into the common goal of all that belong to WUKF: “doing the
best karate in the world”.
Once again in Serbia, WUKF will bring one of the most famous trainers, the former multiple champion Christophe
Pinna. He is well known by all WUKF members, he is supporting WUKF at all our events. He will teach Wednesday
and Thursday before the championship at Novi Sad and due to the proximity of the event we develop together a
special program for training. His lessons at Novi Sad will be focused on tactics and special situations that frequently
appear in kumite competitions and less on physical training. This was established considering that 2 days before the
competition is better to finish a preparation cycle than to load the athletes with intense muscular effort. Of course
some of the information will be impossible to be included into the athlete’s reflexes for the next three days but will
be a good start for the next preparation cycle for the next event. So if you think that our strategy is good please
send your best fighters to Novi Sad, where Christophe Pinna will teach them the way to the gold medal. He made it
successfully lot of times and he will do it for us too. Don’t miss this opportunity if you want to be a champion! And
don’t forget that this is the way for “doing the best karate in the world”.

ESSAGE OF AUTHORITIES
WUKF 2012 – INVITATION LETTER
It is a great pleasure to be in the position to, in my
personal name and on behalf of the City of Novi Sad,
invite young people from all over the Wolrd who
practice karate to come and take part at the 4th WORLD
CHAMPIONSHIPS
FOR
CHILDREN,
CADETS
AND
JUNIORS in the WUKF organization.
Our city is very proud of all the major international
sport manifestations that it hosted. Among the qualified
cities, the City of Novi Sad was elected because of the
excellent
organization
of
the
previous
karate
championships in the year 2002 and 2005 that took
place in the same sport hall. Large sport arena with
space for 12 tatamis and the capacity of 10.000 seats in
auditorium enables us to organize the competition in
the best possible way.
On this occasion, we expect that the Novi Sad will
accommodate over 1,500 participants from around the
world and once again show that sport is the best
ambassador among people and nations, a single driver
of competitive spirit, will and energy. This is particularly
the case with art of karate, a sport which philosophy in
ideal way reflects the idea of absolute respect for the
opponent. In karate, a strong moral imperative is simply
imposed, the ancient principles of objective competition
are faithfully respected and all of that is subjected to
the universal laws of modern sport as well as in
everyday life. This is why karate is really something
special in the index of the most popular sports, and
these events are those rare opportunities for all of us to
learn something from this martial art, this symbol of
true tolerance.
Preparations for the 4th World Championships for
Children, Cadets and Juniors are at their full scale. I am
sure that you will enjoy the extraordinary hospitality of
Novi Sad, the capital of Vojvodina, which is called the
“Balkan Paris?, located on the banks of Danube, just
one hour away from the state capital – Belgrade.
I wish all participants successful preparations for the
upcoming World Championships, and I hope we will all
meet in good health and mood in Novi Sad.
President of the Organizing Committee
Aleksandar Kravić
