of the attractions.
From April 18th to 21th
Rio will be the capital of
urban dances again. Rio
H2K has grown and is
already consider the
biggest street dance
festival
in
Latin
America. The fourth
edition will take place
at Leopoldina Station
and
Centro
do
Movimento
Deborah
Colker.
Rio Hip Hop Kemp
known as Rio H2K brings the best international dancers and choreographers for a big
meeting with workshops, shows, chats and the famous dance battles with more than
250 dancers and also parties that usually take the audience to behold!
During the 4 days of event the most important international choreographers of urban
dances will participate of a special programming. Names like Shaun Evaristo, dancer
of teen idol Justin Bieber, who attended the event last year, was delighted by the
brazilians energy and asked to be invited again this year. Beyoncé’s french dancers,
Les Twins, will also be here to promote the urban culture.
Besides them, dancers who work for Justin Timberlake, Usher, Jennifer Lopez, Lady
Gaga and Mariah Carey, will be present in this edition, which is directed by Miguel
Colker and Bruno Bastos. “In a historic moment where all eyes will be at the city
that will host the World Football Cup and the Olympics, for the gear and relevance
of this living organism, it is fundamental the performance of urban movements that
value the street languages, where people trully meet and connect those who are
from different regions of the country in the same ‘city’” says Miguel Colker.
According to the organizers, the event receives a varied young audience who study
dance, who bet in this market to get professional or who just want to learn how to
dance and exchange experiences and make new friends. “It’s a mix of accents with
people from all over the country. It’s also a mix of languages: spanish, english,
french, people who come from around the world... All states for urban dances”,
explains Miguel.
The program brings together styles for all tastes and tribes: from hip hop to wacking.
Danielle Polanco, which is one of the oldest Beyoncé’s dancer, will teach vogueing.
She already choreographed for artists like Janet Jackson, Chris Brown, Eve and
Estelle.
In 2014 the event continues its legacy, realizing free urban dance classes in the Caju
community and Viaduto de Madureira to disseminate the cultural throughout the
year, arousing the interest of new poeple for the movement.
Rio H2K also held regular and vacation courses at Centro de Movimento Deborah
Colker.
Rio H2K´s organizers will use recycle material to decorate the event. Pallets, bins
with lids, wooden legs and tires trucks will be used to make the structure of the
official product store, room decor, tables, sofas and signposts.
Recycling in favor of the festival’s decoration is one more incentive action and
awareness for environmental education around society, expalins Bruno.
The activities will be divided into two places: Leopoldina station will host the
worshops, discussions pannels, chats, parties and the battles. And the master classes
will happen at Centro de Movimento Deborah Colker.
Not only dance professionals and amateurs, but those who like to watch or have
interests in learning can join the event. Come dance at Rio H2K!
For those who have interest in joining the event, it is possible to buy the passaport
for all the four days or only a single day ticket. The event also has tickets for those
who want to watch or dance at the battles.

THE ATTRACTIONS:
Les Twins
Youtbe sensation, Larry and Laurent Bourgeois, better known as "Les Twins", are
multi-talented artists, choreographers, dancers and more. Identical twins from
France are arguably some of the best dancers in the world. Les Twins are recognized
for their distinctive ability and skill in mixing dance moves and techniques of hip-hop
to classical, showing their excellent musicianship, precision, time, flow and
mysterious synchronicity. Larry and Laurent won international dance contests as
Juste Debout, Freestyle Session 15, Battle of the Stylez and Hip Hop International.
Currently, Les Twins are touring with Beyonce and dancers are the only tour of "The
Mrs. Carter Show".
Fabbreezy / Fabrice
Choreographer and dancer internationally recognized for participating in various
musicals such as Thriller Live and Blaze, and films like Street Dance 3D, Le Défi,
among others. Fabrice was choreographer of the Nike brand in France for 6 years.
Yoshie Koda
One of the living legends of street dance, being recognized as one of the most
famous and important dancers of the world. Yoshie is a member of the Japanese
group BE-BOP Crew and attracts attention not only in Japan but throughout the
world. She has worked with the famous dance group and Japanese entertainment
called "Wrecking Crew Orchestra" and danced for years with the artist Misia.
Shaun Evaristo
Director of Movement Lifestyle, one of the casting studio and most recognized dance
agencies in the world, Shaun Evaristo taught workshops around the world and in
major dance academies in the United States as the Millennium Dance Complex,
Debbie Reynolds and Broadway Dance Center. He is currently one of the principal
dancers on Justin Bieber´s tour "Believe Tour”.
Jillian Meyers
Jillian has choreographed for Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Celine Dion, and the
television program "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing with the Stars." Jillian
is also known for the diversity of her videos on Youtube and by her participation as
an assistant with famous choreographers such as Brian Friedman, Tovaris Wilson, Mia
Michaels, Wade Robson and others.
Danielle Polanco
Polanco has choreographed for artists such as Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga, Jennifer
Lopez, Usher, Chris Brown, Estelle and Eve. For Beyonce, Danielle choreographed the
super hits "Run the World", "Deja Vu", "Get Me Bodied", "Check on it", among others.
She has also participated as a dancer, in more than 20 video clips with international
pop stars. Polanco is also famous for being the star of Omarion´s clip "Touch" and
play the character "Missy Serrano" in the movie franchise "Step Up".
Filipi Ursão
Choreographer and host of Rock in Rio / Stage Street Dance 2013. Workshops taught
in Brazil, Argentina and the Czech Republic where he was invited to teach alongside
the biggest names in Hip Hop at the event Street Dance Kemp, the largest event of
crews in the world, earning the 3rd place with Xstyle Crew. Currently, Filipi Moura
Ursão is one of the big names on the national scene and he is part of Rio H2K Agency
to be launched during the Festival.
Damon Frost
One of the living legends of street dance. Currently 48 years old, Damon Frost is
requested on world events as a juror and lecturer to discuss the beginning of urban
dance in the Bay Area - California in the 70s.
Martha Nabwire
Considered one of the best street dancers in the world. Martha has won the biggest
battle events of the world as: Juste Debout (France), Street Star (Sweden), SDK
(Czech Republic), WDC (Japan), Dance factor (Slovakia), Sade House (Finland),
among others.
Tatsuo Yamamoto
One of the best house dancers in the world. Tatsuo is the leader of the Japanese
group Glasshopper, who just turned 15, and this year, 2014, is the official jury of
Juste Debout, the biggest event of battles of the world. Tatsuo is the winner of the
biggest events of battle in the world as: The Week (Italy), SDK (Czech Republic),
WDC (Japan), Cercle Underground (France), among others.

WORKSHOPS THEMES:
Hip-Hop
Dance Party developed in the Hip Hop Culture in New York. Hip Hop Dance is the use
of urban social dances in hip hop with influences from older dances such as Popping
and Locking.
House
Created in the middle of the 80 in House Music and Hip-Hop parties, in the clubs of
New York City, with influences from tap, capoeira, salsa and other dances. This
dance consists of a series of influences coming from other dances and other cultural
events due to the cultural mix that exists in North American slums.
Locking
70’s. Soul Train. James Brown and Funky Music. Don Campbell. "The Lockers" was the
group that expanded to the world dance.
Popping
80’s. The group responsible for creating the styles known worldwide as popping and
boogaloo are the "Electric Boogaloos". Robotting, Waving, Tutting are examples of
dances aggregated to popping, although not the same technique.
Breaking
End of the 60s. One of the pillars of Hip-Hop culture along with MC, DJ and Graffiti.
Dancehall
Influenced by music and dance steps of african-Jamaican culture. It´s the spirit of
the jamaican dances in the rhythm of Dancehall.
Wacking
The Wacking is one of several branches of Street Dance, with female movements.
This style was developed by the gay community, within the concepts of Locking
(originally called Campbellocking) is a style of funky dance.
