‘ No matter how many times you come to
Moggerhanger, you will never fail to be
inspired by its grace. As you catch your first
glimpse, the impact of grandeur is immediate,
but the elegance of its symmetry and beauty of
its setting emerges as Soane’s vision unfolds.’
MOGGERHANGER PARK
Moggerhanger Park is a unique country
house estate set on the top of the
Greensand Ridge, with sweeping views
across the Ivel Valley in Bedfordshire. In the
middle of nowhere, yet close to everywhere.
This elegant Grade I historic house was
designed by Sir John Soane in 1792, to be
the country home for the Governor of the
Bank of England, Godfrey Thornton. The
house sits gracefully in natural parkland
originally landscaped by Humphry Repton.
The house and grounds have now been
restored to their original state and we
warmly welcome you to create the wedding
of your dreams and be part of its future.
MOGGERHANGER PARK
ROMANTIC SECLUDED SETTING
Moggerhanger Park combines grandness
with intimacy. It is the perfect size for
your Country House wedding, since it
offers all the beauty and stature of grand
architecture, with a house which you can
truly feel is yours for the day.
MOGGERHANGER PARK
AMAZING ARCHITECTURE
Sir John Soane used space and light
uniquely, to create a relaxed and graceful
atmosphere. From the moment you enter
the house, you see his beautiful design
unfold. The sweeping staircase, elegantly
arched windows and unusual oculus create
stunning backdrops for your photographs.

We will ensure that your wedding is
also unique and perfectly tailored to
you. There is no typical Moggerhanger
‘formula’ for weddings and no two will
ever be the same. From the way you
choose to use the elegant rooms and spaces
for your wedding reception, wedding
breakfast and evening party, through to
the detail of your menu, it will be your
distinctive and special day
At Moggerhanger Park, we understand
that this is one of the most important days
of your life. Every detail is handled with
the utmost care for you, to ensure it runs
smoothly.
Uniquely, we can also offer a traditional,
Christian wedding in our chapel, if you
would like to be married in these stunning
surroundings too.
MOGGERHANGER PARK
A CHARMING CHAPEL
Moggerhanger Park has a charming chapel,
with a balcony overlooking the East lawn.
Here, we can offer a church wedding, with
traditional Christian service, performed by
one of our Chaplains.
Next to the chapel is The Bride’s Ante-room
– a spacious and elegant bedroom, with
en-suite facilities, in which you and your
bridesmaids can prepare for your important
day, with calm, tranquil views over the
parkland. We can provide refreshments, to
make this time as relaxing and enjoyable as
possible, as you anticipate the day ahead.

breakfast in Moggerhanger Park’s graceful,
historic rooms.
The grand entrance hall and elegant

backdrop for their drinks reception. In
warm summer months, your guests can
choose the shade of the wrought iron
trellis on the terrace, or to chat in sun on
the back lawn, with sweeping views of the
Ivel Valley.
The East Drawing room is the oldest room
in the house. Together with the central
drawing room, it offers a spacious, lightfilled suite, ideal for a wedding breakfast
for up to 70 guests.
MOGGERHANGER PARK
THE EATING ROOM
With its Doric columns at each corner
and hand painted gold ceiling, the Eating
Room is the grandest room of the house.
A great room for a drinks reception of up
to 80, as its name suggests, it is also perfect
for parties for dining and entertaining.
These elegant rooms have many of the
original features, including the huge sash
windows, through which you can step,
onto the terrace.
Whatever the combination of rooms you
choose, to create your unique wedding,
you can be assured that every detail will be
important to our dedicated team.

What better way to celebrate your day,
than to end with fireworks, from its
wonderful position on the top of the
Greensand Ridge, with views across the
Ivel valley.
