Livingston Lures prides itself on reaching beyond the boundaries of traditional technology and

technology is based on the natural feeding habits of fish. It’s more than just sight and noise; it’s natural
sounds baitfish make. Sensing sound in the water is one of the most important attributes a fish has to
locate food or to keep it from becoming food.
“Besides being able to detect sounds, a critical role for hearing is to be able to discriminate between
different sounds (e.g., frequency and intensity), detect biologically relevant sounds in the presence of
background noises, and determine the direction and location of a sound source in the space around the
animal1,” says the Effects of Mid- and High-Frequency Sonar on Fish report.
We focus our technology on how fish hear and design our lures based on that science.
Fish can hear in a few different ways:
1) Fish can detect sound vibrations via
a lateral line system, located on either
side of their body.
2) All fish have inner ears located near
the brain where they pick up higher
frequency sounds.
3) They also have an air-filled swim
bladder that acts as a resonating
chamber, producing and receiving sound.

As all fish can hear, all fish make sounds as well. When fish swim, their gill plates compress their
swim bladder, which puts out sounds that entice hungry predatory fish to strike, which is what
EBS Technology™ is based on.

on the last day of the Bassmaster Classic to 1st. When
it came down to the wire, Randy chose his Livingston

Your MultiTouch Livingston Lure gives you four options of sound to
choose from. Follow the steps below to select your sound!
MultiTouch Sound Selection
Your Livingston Lure has eyelets that are used as MultiTouch contact points to select the
sound for your lure. (These are the same eyelets used for securing hooks and attaching line
to the lure–see below.) Before choosing your sound, locate Contact Points 1 & 2. (Fig. 1)

Your MultiTouch Livingston Lure must be powered on before
sound selection.

1. To power on: submerge the lure in water for 5 seconds
and remove. Touch & hold Contact Points 1 & 2 (Fig. 2).
After a few seconds, your lure will default to playing the
sound Randy Howell used at the Bassmaster Classic:
EBS™ ORIGINAL.* To select this sound, simply release the
Contact Points.
*In order to select another sound, continue to hold
Contact Points 1 & 2 (Fig. 2).
2. By continuing to hold, you will hear a brief pause followed by the second sound,
EBS™ CRAW. To select this sound, simply release the Contact Points.
3. By continuing to hold, you will hear a brief pause followed by the third sound,
EBS™ SHAD. To select this sound, simply release the Contact Points.
4. By continuing to hold, you will hear no sound, EBS™ SILENT MODE. To select Silent
Mode, simply release the Contact Points after 4 seconds.
You are now at the end of the cycle. In order to select another sound, repeat steps 1-4.
Water amplifies the volume of sound. To best hear your lure, power
on and carefully hold lure up to your ear, keeping hooks away from
your face.
Your MultiTouch Livingston Lure will go into sleep mode if left motionless longer than
3 minutes. This includes in the water, in your tackle box, and hanging from your rod. To
power off your lure sooner than 3 minutes, simply dry thoroughly and lure will turn off.
To reactivate your lure, simply go fishing! Your lure will awaken from sleep mode in the
same sound that was last selected.

The Howeller Deep is a larger
version of the Howeller Dream
Master Classic. At 3 1/4”, it runs
