TOO SICK FOR SCHOOL?
Various "ailments" are common in all
schools during the winter months: strep
throat, gastrointestinal viruses, "pink
eye", and the common cold. Good hand
washing is the best defense against all
contagious illnesses, along with covering
coughs and reducing exposure to illness.
We understand that parents may worry
about their students missing school.
However, please remember the "Golden
Rule" when it comes to not sending
children with contagious illnesses to
school. When in doubt, call the doctor!)
The following students should stay home
from school: those with active vomiting
or diarrhea, fevers over 100 degrees,
undiagnosed rashes, serious untreated
injuries, contagious illnesses, or who are
obviously unwell.
Children with suspected strep throat
must see a doctor for diagnosis and, if
positive, may not return to school until
they have been on antibiotics for at least
24 hours AND are fever/symptom-free
without taking Motrin or Tylenol to
mask the fever. Those with symptoms of
bacterial or viral "pink eye"
(conjunctivitis) must stay home until the
eye is no longer red or he or she has
been cleared for school attendance by a
doctor.

Annual CHRHS Ski Team
Ski Sale
“Giving Used Gear a Second Life”
Kids outgrown their ski equipment?
Got some old ice skates kicking around
the garage that you’ve been meaning to
sell? Looking for some great deals to
outfit the family for winter snow
sports? If so, the annual Camden Hills
Regional High School Ski Team Ski Sale
at the Camden Snow Bowl this
November 23rd-24th is the place for
you. This is an excellent opportunity to
make some money on snow sport
equipment that is outgrown or no
longer used. At the same time, you can
get some great deals on used equipment
such as skis (both nordic and alpine),
boots, poles, snowboards, skates,
helmets, car carriers, etc.
Want to sell used equipment?
Pre-register your equipment online at
https://sites.google.com/site/chrhsski
sale. Then, bring the items you want to
sell to the Snow Bowl on Friday,
November 22nd from 3 PM until 8
PM. You set the price; the ski team
keeps 25% and you get 75%. You can
set a lower Sunday price for any items
that do not sell on Saturday. On Sunday
between noon and 1 pm, pick up a
check for 75% of what was sold and
take home any items that didn’t sell.
Want to buy used equipment?
Come to the Snow Bowl on Saturday,
November 23rd from 9 am until 1 pm
and Sunday, November 24th from 10
am until 1 pm for some terrific deals on
used equipment. In addition to items
brought in on Friday evening, Ragged
Mountain Sports will be selling some
new past season gear at rock bottom
prices. The selection is better on
Saturday; there are some super bargain
prices on Sunday. The new Sunday
prices will be available at the website
after 4 pm Saturday. Your purchases
support the CHRHS ski team.
The annual CHRHS Ski Team Ski Sale

Five Town Football Wins!
Congratulations to the JV Jammers for
winning the Coastal Youth Football
League (CYFL) title when they defeated
the Rockland Orange JV Tigers in a 20-0
win. The game marked a fitting
conclusion for the squad of primarily 3rd
and 4th graders from the towns of
Camden, Rockport, Hope, Appleton,
Lincolnville who came out of the
championship round the same way they
came into it, undefeated (10-0). This
team worked hard all season and gave it
their all in every practice and every game
and now they have the victory to show for
it. Stay tuned for a schedule of when the
golden football trophy will be displayed at
LCS.
In similarly exciting news, the Five
Town Football organization is being
awarded the Youth Advocacy Award from
the Five Town Communities that Care
organization. More details will be shared
about this award in the coming weeks.
Five Town Football wishes to thank fans
for all of their support to the FTF teams
this season.
