PRABHU DAYAL PUBLIC SCHOOL Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi - 110 088 Dear Readers, A warm welcome to all the students, parents, teachers and management committee members to this edition of e-newsletter “Blue Streak” (Vol. I : 2014-15). Blue Streak is about the children, for the children and by the children of PDPS. To ensure that school education prepares the child for life a wholesome approach to learning has been taken up in our school; as you will see in Blue Streak. The editorial board would like to gratefully acknowledge the cordial cooperation of all the people who helped in putting together this news letter and would like to express our sincere thanks to Principal, Mr. A. K. Sharma for his valuable inputs and suggestions. Ms. Ritu Verma I/c, Editorial Team FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK…….. “The motto of Prabhu Dayal Public School is “TRUST THYSELF” “Trust thyself” generally means that if you trust yourself, then you can truly be content in whatever you do or whichever direction you follow to set and target your life curve, what you must do, is all that concerns you, not what people think. This is something that everyone deals with. You can't base your actions and feelings on how others judge you. What you think about yourself should come from somewhere within and should not be confused with the interpretations of others. There is a time in every man's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide ; that he must take himself for better, for worse, as his portion; that though we are surrounded by goodness, but to be good ourselves we have to work at it in our lives. If you try like everyone else, the future will ultimately strip you of your identity. You must accept who you are and only then can you make yourself feel worthy, because until you feel condent about yourself, you cannot make your mark anywhere. We at PDPS believe in ourselves and others as well. We believe in the penetration of the sky of unknown realities spread all around towards endless dimensions. “Blue Streak” is just a ray of hope into darkness that I like to become a beam of LIGHT one day ???? Best wishes to all A K Sharma BRINGING LAURELS TO SCHOOL ……. CLASS XII TOPPERS Five students of our school have found place in the 0.1% of All India Merit list. There are spacious rooms for drawing - colouring, music, dance and musical instruments. Computer Lab. and Audio –Visual room conform to the latest techniques of teaching. Smart Classes for Smart Learners Technology has been a boon in the lives of people and if it's good then why not our students benet out of it!!! Keeping pace with the times, the school introduced Smart Classes in the current session. This kind of visual aid is both eye-catching and interesting so that young students can easily relate to it. It is comparatively easier to learn and retain something that is taught visually rather than the conventional methods of teaching where one has to just keep on reading pages one after another. Morning Assembly We begin our day in the morning with prayers in the assembly. The students from classes I to V, by rotation, speak - Thought for the Day as well as the important national and international news and also impart some information about educational facts, recent discoveries, amazing facts, poem recitals, story narrations, theme based skits and so on. The Morning Assembly is also the time to impart some moral values to the young citizens of our nation either through small skits, short stories or anecdotes. The sun was shining at its best, Some tiny creatures were having rest. I had reached a provision store, And filled up my bag with biscuits, cakes and much more. Suddenly, I noticed a sight, Two puppies shivering in fright A boy of ten held up a stone, The little creatures could do nothing but moan. I snatched the stone and threw it away, Warning him not to do his any other day. The puppies ran towards me licking my hands, It seemed as if they were saying thanks From that day whenever I crossed the road They came to me be it hot or cold. Shivani Mukherjee IX C CREATIVE CORNER A RAINY MORNING I opened the dream world's clock, Time was only five o'clock, I woke up early, I was in a shock, But soon after, I was ready to rock. I sat down on the bed, With my milk and bread, I was feeling very bored, Then the wind roared. I went out to see what the matter was, According to my expectation it was something greater, The sky was full of clouds Now the noise was coming loud I was very pleased with the scene It was something that had never been… I enjoyed a lot : that vibrating loud sound, At that time I wanted to go to a ground Night ended but the morning did not begin Sun had not arrived but the moon had departed Soon it started drizzling The experience was sizzling The little rain drops touched my face Then it started increasing its pace The drops were looking as if they were in a race The nature was looking in its full grace. Soon the area was full of water So I turned to my bed again And for me it was the end of the rain. -RAJ KESWANI XB CREATIVE CORNER FAMOUS SAYINGS 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Winners don't do different things , they do things differently. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too. Enthusiasm is the element of success in everything. Though no one can go back, and make a brand new start; anyone can start from new and make a brand new ending. Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I am possible. -Deepanshi Tyagi VIII B Ms. Ritu Verma, TGT English Ms. Ambica Vij, TGT English
