CLUBHOUSE AND POOL
The Coosaw Point River Club is a Lowcountry architectural tour de force.
Almost 8,000 square feet of interior space, surrounded by wide covered
verandahs, look out over the Marshes of the Coosaw. The River Club features
a large informal recreation room on the pool level, a cocktail lounge and bar,
an extensive fitness room, rest rooms, reception foyer, and elevator service to
the second floor of the clubhouse. The second floor is designed for more
formal activities such as -bridge, property owners' parties, catered events (there is a professional caterer's kitchen) or just relax with friends. The grand
salon soars upward for over 30 feet to huge trusses at the peak of the roof,
and a lovely balcony looks down over the salon from above - a great place for
Christmas carolers when a fire is lit in the big, wood-burning fireplace. The
Coosaw Point sales and management office occupies a small part of this floor,
making it convenient for property owners.
The junior Olympic pool with its shady pergolas, an elaborate child's pool and
a snack bar are adjacent to the clubhouse and have easy access to the first
floor.
From the riverfront verandah, if you get up early enough (and you won't want
to miss any part of the day at Coosaw Point!) you can watch the sun rise over
St Helena Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. In the evening you can sit in a big
rocking chair, enjoy a sundowner, and revel in the spectacular sunset over the
upper waters of the Coosaw River

Crab Shack and Crab Docks
The old crab shack is a reminder of bygone days when there was a small,
commercial crab packing operation at Coosaw Point. The system of holding
ponds is mostly gone, but the quaint old sorting shed remains. We have
preserved it as a place for community or family crab roasts, peel-and-eat
shrimp nights, and never-to-be-forgotten Frogmore Stew events!
The crab docks along the canal are great places for catching a blue crab or
two, for bird watching, and for getting really close to nature.

Coosaw Point Boat Basin
A large floating dock provides 200 lineal feet for tie-ups and easy access to your craft.
A concrete launching ramp is adjacent to the floating dock, it has a walkway beside it
to make the task of launching and hauling your boat much easier. The basin has
been excavated from high ground so that it does not impact the adjacent marsh, and
provides protection for property owners' boats from rough seas during stormy
weather. The basin is connected to the Coosaw River by a 1,000 foot canal that was
dredged out many years ago. These amenities give Coosaw property owners easy
access out St. Helena Sound to the Atlantic, as well as to the Intracoastal Waterway
that runs right in front of Coosaw Point. Hilton Head, Charleston, Savannah and the
whole Eastern Seaboard is at your command!

Parks & Ponds
Nature prevails! Almost 130 acres of Coosaw Point remain as open space. There
are wonderful old man-made duck ponds dating from the time when the property
was the private hunting preserve of its wealthy owner. Other portions are upland,
freshwater wetlands, bordered by ancient live oaks, and set aside in our master
plan to be preserved in perpetuity. One such wetland is reserved as a bird
sanctuary and rookery; there Coosaw Point residents can see the many different
kinds of colonial wading birds such as egrets and blue herons. In other instances,
large parks have been set aside as relatively open grassy fields, bordered by shade
trees, perfect for a neighborhood game of softball.
