Commemorate! Celebrate! Dedicate! - Kettle Moraine Lutheran High
October 2013
Commemorate! Celebrate! Dedicate!
Almost 1,000 people
came to a special
worship service at
Kettle Moraine
Lutheran High
School
September 29, 2013
to commemorate
the fortieth year of
KML’s ministry. We
celebrated the
ministries of the
Rev. Randall Hughes
(25 years), Bonnie
Schramm (25 years), and the Rev. Ronald Mehlberg (40 years) and
installed the newest faculty member, Jonathan Pasbrig. God’s people
made a joyful noise as they dedicated the new Performing Arts
Center and the Fine Arts Academic Wing to God’s glory and the work
of his church and
high school.
Pastor Robert Hein
of Good Shepherd,
West Bend and
the Rev. Benjamin
Berger of KML,
and Pastor Peter
Walther (KML ‘05)
of St. Paul,
Appleton led the
worship that focused on our Past, Present, and Future. The reminder
that God has made us and we are his as recorded in the Word (Psalm
100: 1-3 ESV) helped us “Make a joyful noise to the Lord!” in our
worship together.

30 year reunion Class of 1983
Twenty alumni from the Class of ’83
celebrated their 30th Class reunion Saturday
August 10 at the Campbellsport Inn. They took a
tour of the high school and were among the first to
see the newly finished auditorium. They enjoyed
an evening of fun, laughter, and a lot of catching
up. Along with karaoke and a look into the past,
they remembered classmates who are now with
the LORD. The class has set up a Facebook page
where everyone can keep in touch - KML class of
’83.
Accounting class -
Did you take accounting at KML?
Mrs. Schramm would like to display business
cards from ALL alumni who took the accounting
class while a student at KML. It doesn’t matter
whom you had as a teacher for accounting or even
if you are not working in an accounting-type job.
Please send a copy of your business card to...

Students give back to their school
A group of junior girls created a tile mural for
the hallway leading to the Performing Arts Center.
The student body and faculty will pass the mural
every day on the way to chapel. The main design
includes the quote “Living for YOU in Everything
we Say and Do.” On the left hand side a large cross
emphasizes Jesus as the main focus of our school
and the reason we are living for Christ in response
to the sacrifice he made for us. This mural hangs as
a reminder to all that our actions reflect our love for
our Savior.
Juniors: Lydia Glatzel, Lauren Brandmeier, Sarah Steeno, Alyssa Leikam,
Adrianna Eckert, Lauren Klika, Taylor Oestreich, and Brittany Breimon.
Not pictured: Siara Dohmen and Madeline Collazo.
We also wish to thank Glaze of Thiensville for their help with this project.
Visit “The Writers Corner”!
In order to share the thoughts and ideas, as well as the creative talents and skills of our KML students, a
new webpage called The Writers Corner has been developed by the English Department. The page features
a variety of writing, posted by the writer’s last name, including essays, short narratives, and poetry. To visit
The Writers Corner, simply type in www.kmlhs.org/the-writers-corner . Or, if you are already on the KML
site, go to Student Life, Academics, and scroll down to The Writers Corner. Come for a visit. Stay awhile.
And learn what the students of KML are thinking, creating, and expressing.
Testimonials from the KML Foundation
Every person who supports a ministry has a reason for their generous
donations. As part of the KML Mission Advancement Team, I have the privilege
of hearing those stories. Allow me to share a few with you. The names are
withheld to preserve the privacy of these donors.
“I don’t have a lot of money, but I want to leave something to KML as a way
to honor the experiences that my children had in the music and sports programs.
I pray that my gift will help future KML students get the same level of
enjoyment that my son and daughter had.”
“I never really had much money throughout my life, but now in retirement
I have a little extra money. Since my kids are doing well financially, they don’t
really need the money. I decided to name my church and KML in my estate plan
and let them do something good with the money.”
“I heard about Charitable Gift Annuities, but it didn’t make sense to me. Since I didn’t understand them,
I didn’t consider purchasing one. After I learned that I could get more money every year than I get from
my CDs and saving accounts, I decided to look into it more. Now I know that my retirement income will
increase and my gift to KML will be secure.”
If you would like to learn more about your own gift to the KML Foundation, contact Paul Snamiska.

Cross Trainers benefit
Christian Life Resources
8
Saturday, August 3, KML Cross Trainers
sponsored a Car Wash / Brat Fry for Christian
Life Resources from 8am to 3pm. About 20
volunteers held signs, washed cars, and cooked
brats. They set up at the CLR office just off
Pioneer Road in Richfield. They advertised
throughout the neighborhood, especially in the
Cabela’s parking lot. By the end of the day, they
had raised about $580 for CLR. During the school
year, the group also plans to raise awareness of
life issues among the student body.

Cross Trainers travel to
Lighthouse in Milwaukee
August 2 a group of students from Kettle
Moraine Lutheran High School drove to
Lighthouse Youth Center to serve the teens their
dinner. Since it was during the state fair, our group
served state fair themed food! We even made
cream puffs. The group of Cross Trainers from
KML came to Lighthouse around 4:00 pm and
began preparing the food. While we were
making food the youth from Lighthouse were
playing video games and other games. After
the food was almost done everyone had a Bible
study together. Then it was time to eat. Everyone
was happy and full after the meal! Since it was
summer the center closed earlier than during the
school year so we didn’t have much time to visit
with the youth from Lighthouse. Our group hopes
to go back Lighthouse during the school year and
have more time to visit with the teens at
Lighthouse. Overall, the teens at Lighthouse were
very appreciative of the meal, and the Cross
Trainers had a great time helping others!
Gifts to KML
All gifts are appreciated and are important to the ministry at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. Gifts
to people and programs (operating) support the current day-to-day expenses of operating our high
school. Gifts to Make a Joyful Noise are used to finish our performing arts center and fine arts academic
wing. Gifts to student tuition assistance are used to give tuition assistance to families struggling to send
their children to KML. Regardless of which area or areas you choose to support, all gifts further the
ministry of KML to “educate, encourage, and equip God’s people for life and for eternity.” We wish to
publicly acknowledge and thank our supporters (list includes September 2012 through August 2013).
