The facility sits on 325 contiguous acres of virgin meadowland adjacent to State Road 780, Fruitville Road, the gateway to downtown Sarasota and its world famous beaches. 1000 Circus Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34232 This historic gem, initially designed by Donald Ross in 1926, has grown to include two 18-hole championship courses and a 9-hole executive course. A particularly unique feature of this complex is the absence of any building development on all but one golf hole. Practice Range, Chipping and Putting Greens Golf Shop Location The Bobby Jones Golf Club practice/lesson area has 10 artificial turf hitting stations, with a 225 yards distance restriction. A separate grass pitching area with practice sand bunkers as well as 3 putting greens are available for short game practice/instruction. A full range of golf accessories, equipment and soft goods are available at Bobby Jones. High quality golf equipment from Ping, Wilson, Odyssey, Cleveland Golf and Titleist as well as quality logoed merchandise from Cutter & Buck, Ashworth, Antigua, Bette & Court and Monterey are on display and competitively priced. Rental Golf Clubs Tennis Courts There are 3 hard surface tennis courts available on a first come – first serve basis to the general public. The courts are located adjacent to the first tee of the Gillespie Executive Course. Hourly fees is $2.50 per tennis player. Please purchase prior to play at the clubhouse golf shop. BobbyJonesGolfClub.com Full sets of perimeter-weighted irons and metal woods are available for 9 and 18 hole rental at the golf shop. Choices include men’s, women’s and youth styles in right and left handed models. Clubhouse Restaurant Full service 150 seat facility offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and full bar service. Banquet and special event space available. facebook.com/bobbyjonesgc 3 @BobbyJonesGC (941) 365-4653 The American Course The British Course This 18-hole, par 71 course of 6,032 yards from the back tees is most popular with seniors, women and golfers who prefer varied terrain. The combination of gently rolling hills, sparkling lakes, meandering streams and majestic live oaks make this course a shot makers dream. There are four tee stations at each hole to accommodate varied skill levels and large gently contoured Bermuda greens with strategically placed sand bunkers to challenge every golfer’s short game. On-course amenities include continuous concrete cart paths, fairway and cart path yardage markers. Men’s and women’s restrooms on both front and back nines, drinking water stations, ball washers and benches at each tee for the convenience of the many walking golfers. This 18-hole, par 72 course of 6,710 yards from the back tees is the layout preferred by the long hitting low handicappers. The original Donald Ross design (back 9 holes) has been maintained with moderately sized elevated greens, manicured approaches, open fairways and multiple bunkers. Many large live oaks, pine stands and palms give definition to the long straight fairways. Several ponds and streams come into play and require prudent caution by the long hitters. Four tee stations offer a challenge to all types of golfers and the dome shaped greens, a Ross signature characteristic, requires a deft touch and precise execution to be successful. On-course amenities include continuous concrete cart paths, fairway and cart path yardage markers, on course restrooms and drinking water stations, ball washers, tee benches at each tee and several walking bridges to accommodate the walking golfer. The Gillespie Executive Course This 9-hole, par 30 executive course is 1,716 yards long and consists of three par 4’s and six par 3’s. This little gem is popular with the very young, the very old and the very new golfer as well as folks who want to sharpen their short game skills or have only a limited amount of time to spend on their round. There are two tee stations at each hole and the small elevated oval greens make accuracy a priority. A large ravine bisects the course and serves to protect several of the green approaches. Small ponds and a variety of oaks and palms make this 35 acre tract a terrific little golf course.
