Santa Fe The next generation Santa Fe is here. www.hyundai.co.nz Your journey, your way Life is a journey, with many twists and turns. Some you’re prepared for and some which catch you by surprise. But you take them all in your stride, and find the joy in each and every one. It’s a journey well worth taking. And worth doing your way. Hyundai Motors New Zealand’s support for the Child Cancer Foundation continues its strong commitment to community groups in New Zealand. The Child Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organisation that supports children and young people with cancer, their families, and the health professionals who care for them. 3 A life without limits The Santa Fe – a perfect balance The new Hyundai Santa Fe sets the standard with more power, more space, more safety and more luxury. Petrol or diesel, cloth or leather, five or seven seats – the choice is yours. So whether it’s for adventuring on or off-road, or carrying a busy family around town, the Santa Fe is all you need. The world is raving about the next generation Santa Fe and in New Zealand the Santa Fe was not only the outright winner of the Large Lifestyle/Leisure class in the 2008 AA EnergyWise rally but is New Zealand’s number one selling diesel passenger vehicle for 2006, 2007 and 2008*. *LTNZ 2008 registration figures 4 Designed for freedom At first glance, the Santa Fe gives an impression of both agility and strength. Its side profile is truly dynamic. Beautifully proportioned, its sweeping curves seamlessly link its stylish rear bumper to the sculptured character lines of its bonnet. With front and rear foglights, alloy wheels, dual exhausts and a sleek rear spoiler*, every detail has been purposefully designed to carry you in style. *Elite variants only 5 Experience the best from within Interior style Within the Santa Fe, you’ll find a large modern interior and a plethora of features designed for driver and passenger comfort. 5 or 7-seat options are available. These feature either full leather or fabric upholstered seats, electrically or manually adjustable driver and front passenger seats, and electrically or manually adjustable driver lumbar support. In Elite variants you’ll enjoy dual zone climate control air-conditioning with AQS (Air Quality Control System), and an interior pollen filter, as well as a cooler box in the centre console for keeping your drinks cold. In 7-seat variants, you’ll also enjoy manual air-conditioning for the third row of seating. When the third row of seating is not required, it cleverly folds flat into the floor. All automatic models feature a foot controlled parking brake and an electric chromic rear-view mirror that automatically dims at night to avoid headlight glare. With a trip computer and a steering wheel that houses cruise controls and audio controls with seek-and-skip functions, everything you need is at your fingertips. 6 Leather and suede interior shown is indent order only. GPS shown not available. The attractive, blue lit instrument panel gives you excellent visibility of the instruments at night. The Santa Fe has an impressive selection of sound systems. From an MP3 compatible CD player with six speakers, to a 6-disc indash MP3 compatible CD player with seven speakers including an 8” subwoofer on Elite variants. All variants also include USB, AUX and iPod® connectivity. Santa Fe seating combinations on 7-seat variants. The electric seat controls in Elite models set the 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat including electric lumbar adjustment, and the 4-way electrically adjustable passenger seat for optimum comfort. All models feature the convenience of a gate type automatic transmission with sports shift, which gives you enhanced control by allowing you to enjoy manual style sequential shifting without the clutch. 7 Safety features to set a new standard Safety aspects The Santa Fe is one of the safest cars in its class. 2006 Euro NCAP and Australasian ANCAP tests awarded the Santa Fe an overall 4 star rating demonstrating the extreme safety and solidity of the Santa Fe while 2008 NHTSA NCAP safety tests awarded the maximum 5 stars for frontal and side impact. It has a list of clever safety features. The advanced electronic ‘torque on demand’ 4WD system standard on the 2.7 V6 petrol and 2.2 CRDi diesel variants is an example. It uses sensors to monitor driving conditions. In non-demanding conditions it allocates nearly all of the available torque to the front wheels – effectively running in 2WD and thus providing fuel efficiency gains. As road conditions or torque demand changes, it automatically distributes up to 50% of the available torque to the rear wheels as required. In particularly demanding conditions, a 4WD lock button lets you manually ‘lock’ 4WD for a 50/50 torque split, which remains activated at speeds less than 40 kph. In addition, the Santa Fe has an advanced Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) as well as Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), which applies the optimum pressure to individual brakes in all braking situations. The Santa Fe also features the BAS (Brake Assist) system. This applies maximum force to the brakes during emergency stopping situations. These braking technologies are standard on all model variants and work in harmony with ABS for superior safety. Passenger safety is further enhanced in the event of a frontal or side impact with six airbags: dual front, dual side and dual front-to-rear roof curtain airbags. Also featured are driver and front passenger active head restraints, as well as seatbelt load limiters and dual pretensioners for front seat passengers. With 3-point lap diagonal (ELR) seatbelts for all passengers and height adjustable seatbelts for front passengers, the Santa Fe looks after the whole family. 8 ESP – Electronic Stability Programme The Santa Fe’s ESP system, an advanced standard safety feature, helps you remain in control of your vehicle during critical situations to avoid serious accidents. The ESP system achieves this by comparing the driver’s intention with the momentary vehicle behaviour, and controls the Antilock Braking (ABS) and Traction Control Systems (TCS) accordingly, to initiate the appropriate corrective action by selectively braking individual wheels and controlling engine power. This stabilises the vehicle and keeps it on track. Santa Fe safety pack To give you a little more peace of mind, every Santa Fe is equipped with its own safety pack – a fire extinguisher, reflective safety vest and first aid kit. 9 10 *Fuel figure is based on Santa Fe 2.2 CRDi M5 5S and is taken from the 2008 AA EnergyWise Rally over 1,641kms which are based on measurements taken in strict test conditions. Actual fuel economy rates will differ depending on driving conditions. 11 The power of choice Engine technology and handling With the Hyundai Santa Fe, you have a choice of two engines that deliver the critical ingredients of performance, endurance and fuel economy. A 2.2 litre diesel engine delivers 110 kW of power at 4000 rpm, and 335 Nm of torque at 1800 – 2500 rpm while the high-tech 2.7 litre V6 petrol engine produces 138 kW of power at 6000 rpm and 248 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. So whatever engine you choose, you’ll have the responsiveness and power you need in every situation. 2.2 CRDi diesel Santa Fe engine with VGT With cutting edge technology that includes high-pressure common rail direct injection, and a Variable Geometry Turbo, the 2.2 litre diesel engine will really perform. The 2.7 litre V6 petrol engine features Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT), which delivers dynamic and robust power at high rpm, and increased torque at low rpm, whilst also contributing to improved vehicle emissions and fuel economy. Sporty handling is provided by MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. Add to this front and rear hydraulic double acting shock absorbers and anti-roll stabiliser bars, and you’ve got a vehicle that you’ll enjoy putting through its paces. The 2.7 V6 petrol engine is matched with a 4-speed automatic transmission and the 2.2 CRDi diesel engine with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Both feature sports shift, as well as the HIVEC computerised adaptive logic system, which recognises driving tendencies and will adjust automatic gear shifting sequences accordingly. 2.7 V6 Quadcam 24 value petrol Santa Fe engine with CVVT 12 Colour range Exterior Ebony black Black pearl Gun metal Blue titanium Sleek silver Blue onyx Superior red Natural khaki Satin beige Vanilla white Grey cloth Beige cloth Black leather Grey leather Interior Black cloth Beige leather Note: Colours subject to availability, some colour and trim combinations available through indent order only. Third row manual airconditioning (7-seat only) Manual air-conditioning standard in the third row of seating in 7-seat models. Electric chromic rear-view mirror with digital compass Automatically senses and reduces light intrusion from following vehicles. This dramatically reduces eye fatigue in tough and dark conditions. Also shown in image is a conversation mirror, which is standard on 7-seat variants only and allows you to keep an eye on all rows of seating. Roofrack Standard on all variants with adjustable cross bars and 100kg load limit. Centre dash storage compartment Dual zone climate control air-conditioning The centre dash storage compartment is another storage facility which gives you ample space to conveniently store everyday items such as a wallet, keys, cell phone, CD’s and more. Allows both driver and front passenger to control their own flow of air-conditioning. Also comes with AQS (Air Quality Control System) including interior pollen filter. (Elite only). USB, iPod® and Auxiliary media inputs Centre console cooler box Enjoy your favourite music via USB, iPod®, MP3 player or external music device through the Santa Fe’s sophisticated stereo system. All variants come standard with an auxiliary (AUX) connector cable. Keep drinks and snacks cool for the journey using the air conditioning in the centre storage cooler box. (Elite variants only). 14 Accessories Weather shield Custom towbar Headlight cover Transparent cover fitted to the drivers door to allow the window to remain open in all weather. Perfection and build quality Few companies are as fanatical about quality as Hyundai. We are driven by perfection. It begins with our commitment to a zerodefects policy. Every stage of our car making process is checked and assessed, and every employee’s priority is build quality. If anything is less than perfect, we go to great lengths to redesign it to make sure we get it right. Our laser technology, no hand-spraying technique, quality control testing and rewarding workers for improved quality are just some of the ways we aim to achieve manufacturing excellence. We have one of the world’s most advanced diesel engines. They are powerful, energy efficient, economical and they readily meet the toughest of diesel emission standards. This commitment has made Hyundai one of the world’s most respected quality brands, and one of the fastest growing. All this adds up to maximising customer satisfaction - which is perhaps best reflected in the resale value our customers enjoy. Hyundai Motors New Zealand Limited is part of the highly successful Giltrap Group of companies and along with its entire dealer network, is one hundred percent New Zealand owned and operated.
