BAE Systems FLDP
We appreciate the opportunity to
provide an overview of BAE Systems'
Financial Leadership Development
Program (FLDP). We are very proud of the
program and what it offers recent college
graduates in terms of work experience,
leadership development opportunities,
and enhanced career development. Our
FLDP has been developing business
leaders for the company for over 40
years. BAE Systems' finance community
is well-represented with FLDP graduates
who have been promoted to key positions
including vice president of Finance and
director of nearly all financial disciplines. I
myself am a graduate of the program.
As you read on, you will learn about
BAE Systems, our locations, business
areas, and guiding values. We also will tell
you about the features and benefits of the
FLDP, some of which include job rotations,
high visibility, leadership training, one-onone mentoring, and a company-supported
graduate degree. We hope you find this
information helpful and that you will give
our program careful consideration.

Our locations
The BAE Systems Finance organization is
responsible for supporting the business
in meeting the company’s strategic goals.
The Financial Leadership Development
Program is a key component of the
Finance organization at BAE Systems.
The program's foundation is in three
home campus locations: Nashua, New
Hampshire; Endicott, New York; and the
Washington, D.C., area.
FLDP participants also have the opportunity
to work in Fort Worth, Texas; York,
Pennsylvania; Charlotte, North Carolina;
and many other locations. All sites offer an
array of social and cultural activities.
Each site is unique in its own way. All of
them offer employees fulfilling careers
with competitive salaries and excellent
benefits. The complete package includes
regular merit reviews, comprehensive
insurance benefits, graduate school
tuition assistance, paid vacation, and
a 401(k) plan with company match.
Many facilities offer health and wellness
programs as well as flexible work
schedules, such as the 9/80. The 9/80
schedule compresses the 80 hours
normally worked in a two-week period
into nine working days, giving employees
every other Friday off.
The FLDP allows participants to
experience geographic, business, and
functional diversity. Gaining experience in
different locales broadens participants'
scope and business knowledge, helping
tomorrow's leaders to develop and grow.

a broad base of functional experience,
typically serving in project finance,

Graduate school /
in-house training
The participants' educational coursework
provides a blended learning experience
that combines the comprehensive
education of a master’s degree with the
practical knowledge of in-house training.
BAE Systems offers tuition assistance for
graduate school programs. Participants
may attend any accredited business
graduate school offering a part-time
evening, weekend or online program
approved by FLDP management.
Members of the program also complete
in-house training that focuses on Project
Finance, Government Contracting, and
Program Management at BAE Systems.
This training program familiarizes
participants with the unique aspects of
the defense contracting industry.
In addition to the in-house training,
many BAE Systems sites offer "softskill" training, such as: visualization,
communication, business etiquette, and
public speaking.
9
FLDP meetings
The program gives each participant
many unique opportunities. It provides
interaction with senior leadership, and
training on a wide array of topics pertaining
to BAE Systems and the aerospace,
defense, and security industries.
Throughout the program, participants
meet regularly with senior management to
discuss career goals and opportunities.
FLDP coordinators
Program coordinators are responsible
for mentoring program participants,
evaluating individual performance,
assisting in yearly job rotation selections,
and making policy recommendations to
the FLDP leadership team.
Additional mentoring is provided by the
managers who oversee the participants'
daily activities and write their annual
performance reviews.

FLDP
Program completion
An FLDP graduation ceremony is held
each year, typically in June. The ceremony
serves to recognize the accomplishments
of those who have successfully completed
the program. Graduates are placed
within one of our sectors based on their
interests and abilities demonstrated
during the program.
Today, many FLDP graduates are serving
as managers, directors, controllers, and
vice presidents throughout the company.
Graduates are well-positioned to succeed
as a result of their broad experiences,
mentoring and educational opportunities,
and the strong networks they establish as
program participants.
