Polled. Like our good friend Kent Jaecke says, “When you go to Schrags
you know you will have good food to eat, great friends to see, and the old
Revival cow will be on display.” Well, I guess this year will be no different! The Revival cow has hit one out of the ballpark this year. We are selling 9 direct calves from 5 different sires. Now that is amazing production
and versatility. We aren’t one for cloning, but the way she has clicked
with Fizz and Swagger, we are just plain stupid not to. What’s Up is by far
the most impressive and massive bull ever produced here. His now
deceased sire, SS Fizz, is a genetic full sib to LCC Aviator, and he added
more power, bone and hair. What’s Up has been a man among boys his
whole life. I could list a million adjectives to describe him, muscular, soft
made, huge boned, big footed, easy on his pasterns, docile and on and
on. He is the must see kind. My Dad always said when you are buying the
bull you are buying his mother. Well you can’t get much better than SS
Revival. What’s Up’s flush mate sister, Revival Up, is hard to let go. She
is the belly dragging, smooth shouldered, sound made kind. She is easy
to work with and easy to feed. A great show heifer with unlimited donor
potential.

Polled. After these two heifers were born, we immediately went to Trans
Ova and froze more sexed semen on Swagger! We bought Swagger from
the Doug Hahn Family hoping he would pass on the soft look, superior
structure, and coolness. Boy did he! The Swagger calves speak for themselves and the Revivals are among the best. Sweet Revival has been a
farm favorite all year. She is tiny necked, big bellied, and puts her foot
down with a lot of flex. It is hard to have a heifer this good and not put
her in the show barn, so Sammi did. Sammi has shown her twice already,
where she was champion both times. Sweet Revival’s success will be thru
the show ring onto the donor pen. Built like her famous mother, this is
the kind judges like and breeders love. When were taking pictures Cory
and I both questioned if Rhinestone Revival wasn’t better. Many will
thinks so and I won’t argue. It is hard to go wrong with a Swagger x
Revival. Rhinestone is probably the most honest heifer in the sale. So
strong topped, with that extra mass and rib. Flawless in her design, this is
the kind that gets better everyday. Take your pick. Then buy the Fizz
semen, flush your Revival donor and reap the rewards!

General Sale Information
Air Travel: There are commercial flights every day to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Terms And Conditions: Terms of the sale are cash or check made payable to
Schrag Shorthorns to the clerk immediately following the sale and before the cattle are removed from Schrag Shorthorn Farms. Purchasers or their representatives must sign the bill of sale prior to leaving the sale.
Billed Accounts: All billed accounts are due and expected within 10 days of the
sale date. At 10 days, a two percent service charge will be added to the unpaid
balance and an additional two percent will be added every 30 days thereafter.
Liability: Each animal will be at the buyer’s risk as soon as sold, but will be cared
for by the seller’s for a reasonable amount of time. Neither the owners, employees, auctioneer, sale manager or other affiliated personnel can be responsible for
any accidents, but they will make every effort to provide for the safety and comfort of those attending.
Breeding Guarantee: All animals sell guaranteed to be fertile. Exceptions: 1)
Disease, or injury occurring after purchase; 2) Bulls being run with the herd prior
to 14 months of age. Schrag Shorthorns will guarantee open heifers to breed;
however, please keep in mind that animal conditions influence fertility greatly. If
there is a problem, we would want the females to be returned to us to be bred.
Open heifers that have been transplanted are not guaranteed. In the event that an
animal will not settle with the efforts of the buyer and seller, a sale credit in the
amount of the purchase price will be issued to the buyer that can be used at any
time on any animal, flush, semen or embryos sold by Schrag Shorthorns.
Registration And Transfer: All animals sell with completed pedigrees or applications for registration.
Insurance will be available for your purchases at the sale through Harding &
Harding. Contact either their representative or the clerk at the settlement desk.
Health: Each animal will be represented by a state approved health certificate for
interstate shipment. Buyers should make themselves aware of the health requirements for their respective states.
Announcements made sale day will take precedence over printed material in this
sale catalog.
ASA Genetic Defect Disclaimer: Unless an animal is listed on the American
Shorthorn Association “genetic defect status list”, the American Shorthorn
Association makes no representation of any kind as to whether or not the animal
has a genetic defect.
Herd Health Management: All cows are routinely vaccinated for Lepto, Vibrio,
IBR, P13 and BVD. All calfhood vaccinations include 7-way and Pink Eye, IBR,
P13, BVD and BRSV. Heifer calves are bangs vaccinated. Pasteurella Hemolytica
and Hemophilus Somnus.
Flushes: Schrag Shorthorns reserves one flush or eight or more grade 1 or 2
embryos at our expense on all females selling.
Embryos: Guarantee one pregnancy on each package of embryos sold if implanted by a certified technician. In the event that a pregnancy is not confirmed, an
additional embryo will be received.
Mailed Bids: Mailed or telephoned bids will be handled in a most confidential
manner. If you are unable to attend the sale personally, simply contact a representative of Aegerter Marketing Services; Cory Schrag; or any other sale representative listed in this catalog far enough in advance prior to sale day; they will be
able to assist you at ringside on sale day.
Breeding Update/Calving Information: There will be added information available
at the sale site that will list any additions to the catalog information as to new
calves born and new breeding information that will occur after the printing of this
catalog.
Genetic Defect Status: All cattle selling are guaranteed to be TH/PHA Free, unless
otherwise stated on sale day. Only the cattle out of known carrier parents have
been DNA tested for TH & PHA. Cattle that have not been tested are selling guaranteed to be defect free. If the new owner wishes to DNA test their purchase,
within six months of the sale date, and an unkown carrier is identified, you may, if
you wish, return your purchase for a full refund.

Stangl Bred Heifers
We are honored to consign this group of heifers to the Family Event Sale. The term family event brings special meaning to us this year as we continue to maintain and
build the herd that was the vision and passion of our great uncle Orville Stangl. Orville began this registered herd of Shorthorns in the 1940s, and many of the current blood
lines can be traced back to the original herd. In the mid 80s, Rick became a partner in the operation and we took full possession in the late 80s with Orville’s retirement. As
with any family operation, sons Blane and Clay became involved at an early age and are an active part of the business. Seeing the herd and farm continue was a pride and
joy for Orville. He passed away in July at 88 years of age and we are proud to continue the family business he started.
The heifers we are offering are sired by bulls we have used heavily and with confidence. The three Whitesnake daughters are new genetics for us. He was the high selling
bull at the Nebraska Cattlemens Classic. We leased him for two years and liked his calves so well that we purchased him. The dams of these heifers come from the heart of
our herd and the heifers are bred to proven calving ease bulls, including JSF Golden Rod 57U who was our pick of the 2009 Denver bulls. This group of heifers offers
outcross pedigrees with true calving ease that you can purchase with confidence.
