General Sale Information –
American Shorthorn Association Genetic Defect Disclaimer: Unless
an animal is listed on the American Shorthorn Association “genetic
defect status list”, the American Shorthorn Association makes no
representation of any kind as to whether or not the animal has a
genetic defect.
Terms And Conditions: Cattle sell per the terms and conditions of the
American Shorthorn Association. Announcements from the auction
block on sale day will take precedence over the information printed in
this catalog. The terms of payment are cash or good check (with
proper identification, i.e. drivers license), as well as Visa or
Mastercard, made payable to the sale clerks. If you choose to use a
credit card, you will incur a 3% service charge which will be applied to
the total sale cost (thus a $1,000 heifer will cost you $1,030). No
cattle will be loaded until approved by the sale clerks.
Health: Each animal selling will be accompanied with a state approved
health certificate from its state of origin for interstate travel. Buyers
should make themselves aware of the health requirements for their
respective states. Bred females have been pregnancy checked safe by a
licensed veterinarian. Updated breeding information will be available
on a supplement sheet sale day. This sheet will take precedence over
statements in the sale catalog. All bulls selling are guaranteed to be
breeders.
Breeding Guarantee: The Suggested Breeding Guarantee as endorsed
by the American Shorthorn Association will be followed.
Registration And Transfer: All animals sell with completed pedigrees or
applications for registration in the hands of the sale manager. Please
leave all transfer information with the sale clerks at the completion of
the sale.
Livestock Transportation: No cattle will be loaded until the
completion of the sale. We will be happy to assist with arranging
delivery of purchases to your farm or a convenient location.
Announcements made from the auction block take precedence over all
printed material in this catalog.
Insurance will be available for your purchases at the sale through
Harding & Harding Insurance Company. Contact the clerk at the
time of settlement for your insurance needs.
Liability: Each animal selling will be at the buyer’s risk as soon as sold.
Neither the owners, employees, auctioneer, sale consultants, sale
manager, Illinois Shorthorn Association, Illinois State Fairgrounds or
other affiliated personnel can be held responsible for any injury or loss
for those attending the sale, but will make every effort to provide for
the safety and comfort of those attending.
Absentee Bids: We hope you will be able to attend. If you cannot
attend and would like to purchase cattle, please call one of the
members of the sale management team to receive your bidders
number.
Embryo & Semen Lots: The buyer will be responsible for the shipping
costs associated with the embryos and semen purchased in this sale.
Sale brought to you by the Illinois Shorthorn Association
I would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone back for the 4th Annual Midwest Shorthorn Spectacular. Once again this
year the consignors have assembled an excellent set of show heifers, bred females and select herd sire prospects for your appraisal.
Additionally, these same firms have dug deep into their genetic inventories to offer highly sought after embryos, semen and flush
opportunities.
I would also like to extend an invitation for all Shorthorn Breeders to plan to attend our 2011 Annual Shorthorn Banquet. This
event will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 in the lower auditorium of the 4-H Junior Building on the State
Fairgrounds. This event will give us all a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, establish new relationships and build on an
already outstanding state organization. Please R.S.V.P. for the banquet by emailing Janet Leemon at [email protected],
or by calling myself at 217-246-1912.
As always if you need any assistance or have any questions feel free to contact myself or any of the sales staff. We look forward to
seeing you in Springfield for a great Shorthorn weekend!
Sincerely,
Wes Wise, president
Illinois Shorthorn Association

the 2008 Shorthorn Junior Nationals. Her sire is a past Denver Champion.

mother’s full sibs, but here is a donor you are about to see a lot from. Here is a
cow that can produce heifers to improve any program. Mirage 46T is both TH

Guarantee one pregnancy if implanted by a certified technician. Roan’s Sue
is an outstanding direct daughter of ASA’s model cow CF Roan Sue. She has a
picture perfect udder and is a super milk producing, TH & PHA free daughter
of Double Vision. Roan Goose is a young TH & PHA free sire that we feel is
going to climb the ranks fast. He was a champion at the Illinois State Fair. Being
out of CF Solution and the great Mona Lisa 35L, what more can be said? He is a
full brother to the popular Grey Goose.

Guarantee one pregnancy if implanted by a certified technician. Sable 04 is a
full sib to the legendary National Champion Milestone Sable 01. This female
was Grand Champion at the Georgia National when shown. This is probably
one of the strongest matings in the Shorthorn breed - the combination of three
National Champions, CF Lucky Charm, MSF Equity and WF Evergreen Sable.
These embryos are sired by CF Primo, a full sib to HD Bloodstone.

Guarantee one pregnancy if implanted by a certified technician. Wow! What
a proven opportunity! Michelle 4J04 is probably the most consistent donor that
we have had. Always high quality calves when mated to any bull. We have had
two full sibs to this mating and they have been excellent. JS Revolver 7J07, the
2007 NAILE Late Spring Bull Calf Champion and Reserve All-American and JS
Miss Michelle 0J07, a 2010 September heifer calf that will be in our show string
this summer. This September baby is awesome.
