Agenda Item: Application for Transfer of Class 1 (General On & Off-Sale) Alcoholic
Beverage License from The Ho Sports Bar & Casino (loc. at 3450 Gateway Dr) to JJCM,
LLC, dba Helix Wine & Bites (loc at 4491 S Washington St Suite D)

Staff Recommended Action: Approval of the application for transfer subject to approval
by various city departments including: City Attorney, Police Department, and meeting all
requirements of the City Code, along with payment of various fees.
Committee Recommended Action:
Refer to City Council with recommendation to approve. Motion by Schneider second
by Marshall.
Council Action:
BACKGROUND: The Finance Department has received application from The Ho Sports
Bar & Casino (loc. at 3450 Gateway Dr) requesting to transfer their Class 1 (General On & OffSale) Alcoholic Beverage Licenses to JJCM, LLC, dba Helix Wine & Bites (loc. at 4491 S
Washington St Suite D). Helix currently holds a Class 3 (Off and/or On Sale Beer and Wine)
Alcoholic Beverage License and is located at 110 N 3rd St. Helix is seeking to move to the new
location and acquire the liquor license of The Ho Bar & Casino so that they would be able to
provide full liquor service.

Application for Class 1 Alcoholic Beverage License has been received by the Finance
Department.
A letter from The Ho wishing to transfer their license to JJCM, LLC, dba Helix Wine &
Bites has been received.
Application fee of $335 has been paid.
Transfer fee of $16,425 is required upon approval of the transfer.
Prorated annual fee will also be required at license issuance.
Application requires inspection and approval by various city departments, including City
Attorney, Police, Fire, Health, and Inspections Departments
Transfers of Alcoholic Beverage Licenses require approval by the City Council
