On behalf of the Organizing committee of the 2nd Biennial
National Dental symposium PIMS Islamabad 2014, it is my
honor & privilege to extend a warm welcome to our
distinguished collegues, speakers, delegates &
participants to this scintillating exciting extravaganza, that
is being held at the prestigious Pakistan institute of
medical science in the heart of mesmerizing ambience of
scenic capital.
We have provided a forum for different dental institutes
and their faculty to come up with their scientific papers at
both graduate and postgraduate levels. At the same time,
we will be able to discuss new innovations and treatment
modalities in dentistry.
The first meeting was held in November 2011 and we
greeted esteemed colleagues from around the country. It
provided an opportunity to share new treatment regimens
and, more importantly, to identify the need for continued
investigations to support emerging procedures. As
promised that we are going to make it a regular feature of
PIMS Academic calendar, now in 2014, we look forward
not only to share ideas and results of contemporary
research but also to have translation of this information
into improved patient care. It has become imperative for us
to update ourselves to be at the cutting edge of innovations
and evidenced based developments in concepts,
techniques & technology thus our most appropriate theme
which personifies our intent “BRIDGING THE DIVIDE”
This symposium once again will be a joint endeavor among
varied conventional & contemporary dental specialties
including, Operative dentistry, Endodontics,
Orthodontics, Pedodontics, Periodontics, Implant
dentistry, prosthodontics, and oral & maxillofacial
surgery, microsurgery.
I appreciate the interest and participation of all the dental
colleges, students and faculty as well as general dental
surgeons. We will try to do it to the best of our abilities and
welcome suggestions and inputs for further improvements.
