1.Locate the skeg control lever inside of the cockpit
directly under the skeg control handle.
2. Remove the circle retaining ring from the short pin
and allow the cable to slide back to the cable housing
tube.
3. Use cable cutter to cut the cable and remove the
old control cable from the skeg. Remove and retain
the spring.
**If you are replacing your skeg blade;
Pop the skeg blade off of the hinge pin and snap
the new one on now.
4. Remove the old cable from the cable housing tubing from inside the cockpit.
Insert the cut cable
completely into the
housing
5.Use cable cutters to cut your new cable to the
proper length as outlined in the cable cutting chart
on page one. Use caution to make a clean cut. Insert
the cut end completely into the cable housing tube.
7.Slide the cable through the “through holes” on the
cable stopper assembly. Insert until the cable is just
barely through the assembly. Use a 1.5mm Allen
wrench to tighten the set screw on the side of the assembly. Tighten well.
9.Thread the cable until it is on completely and press
the top tab of the skeg blade into the spring as shown.
6.Flip the boat over and go back to the skeg box...
Feed the cut end of the cable through the hole on
the top of the connector tab on the skeg blade. Push
the cable out to one side. Allow the skeg blade to
fall back into the skeg box and keep the cable end
sticking up.
8.Lift the blade and up and let the round cable stopper
assembly enter the recess on the skeg blade. Install
the spring by twisting/threading it around the cable.
10.Reconnect the stake eye end of the cable to the
skeg lever using the small pin and circle retaining
ring.
