Each year at Christmas, we are reminded once
again that God’s objective is not the conquest of
nations, but to make our hearts his home! On the
night of Jesus’ birth, God did not invite the religious,
rich, or famous to the manger. Why? Most likely,
because their hearts were not open to God. Instead,
God touched the hearts of the Shepherds who were
certainly not religious, rich, or famous. And yet, their
hearts received the joy of the Christ Child. After all
these years, God’s objective is the same…he wants
to take up residence within our hearts, just as he
took up residence in the hearts of the Shepherds. In
Phillip Brooks’ Christmas hymn, “O Little Town of
Bethlehem,” he captured the essence and true
meaning of Christmas with the verse “How silently,
how silently the wondrous gift is giv’n! So God
imparts to human hearts the blessings of his heav’n.
No ear may hear his coming; but in this world of sin,
where meek souls will receive him, still the dear
Christ enters in.” May you once again open your
heart to Christ this Christmas season.
Christmas blessing to you and yours!
Pr. Bob
PS Please make every effort to be in church on
Christmas Eve (5 pm, 7 pm, 9 pm, & 11 pm). And,
please bring a friend!

Thoughts while Quilting……
I thread the yarn through my needle
And take a stitch.
We’re tying quilts at church again
today.
I tie a knot as I watch the busy fingers
across the table and smile as I recognize a patch of brown.
The Quilting Group meets on the second and third
Thursday of each month at 9:00 am, in the
Fellowship Hall.
If you have any questions, please contact Irene
Sisson at 407-846-4071.
You do not need to be an expert quilter or sewer to
join our group. We tie all our quilt tops with yarn.
We are in need of people to help put them together.
Machine sewers are desperately needed to sew the
squares together (for the tops of the quilts).
Both ladies and gents are welcome!
So many heads bowed in a holy
communion of endeavor—- Some quiet,
most talking and laughing, sharing the
fellowship of working at a common task
as the sewing machine whirrs in the
corner.
Stitch. Tie. Where will this quilt go?
What purpose will it serve?
Will it cover a family in a common bed?
Or wrap a bony sufferer sleeping in the
street?
Will it divide a room, or protect a
sleeping baby from the flies?
Will it enfold a mother and child, or
warm a refugee?
Will it say, “God cares, and so do we?”
We cannot take them in our arms
To warm their hearts and cheer their
souls, but we can wrap our love in
quilts, and pray that they will know.

productions.
Thank you to everyone
who supported Fall
Festival on November
14th. It was a great
success and enjoyed
by everyone who
attended. It was such a joy seeing so
many church members supporting this
event.
Since the new school year began, we
have been collecting non-perishable
food items so that we could make up
food parcels for needy Trinity School
families.
During the month of
December, we will be supporting the
Angel Tree, in the Sanctuary and will
collect gifts for needy Trinity students.
Please consider supporting this event
as there are many families in need
especially at this time of year and these
gifts are often the only gifts these
children receive.
As we progress into December, the
students are busy rehearsing for their
Christmas concerts.
Pre-K and
Kindergarten will be performing
Drummer Boy followed by Grades 1-4
performing “Just Chillin”, Tuesday December 15th beginning at 6:30pm.
Grades 5 – 8 will perform “One day In
December” on Thursday December 17th
I would like to take this opportunity to wish
everyone a very Blessed Christmas and a Happy,
Healthy and Prosperous 2016. Thank you for your
support over the past year and we at Trinity School
look forward to sharing our school with you in 2016.

THE MESSENGER
On the weekends of
October 31/November 1 and November 7/8,
our Quilters displayed the many quilts they
made over this past year.
These quilts were sold on those weekends,
as well as, at our Fall Festival. They sold a
total of 3 baby quilts, 8 twin, 2 queen quilts
and a wall hanging for sales of $740. Our
Quilting Group will keep $148 (20%) and
donate the rest, $592, to Trinity School’s
Food Pantry. There are still 5 queen and 15
twin quilts available if anyone is interested
in purchasing one. See Judie Peters or
Irene Sisson.
In addition, they are looking to donate a few
of the quilts to the school (for the Angel
Tree) and the remainder will be given to
organizations such as Help Now, Red
Cross, and Lutheran Services.
If you are still interested in making a
donation to our quilting group, envelopes
are available in the narthex. Your donations
help our quilting group purchase material
and all necessary items needed to create
these beautiful quilts throughout the year.
Shoe Box Gifts a program of Samaritan’s
Purse has been a yearly project at Trinity
School. This year, we asked the congregation to participate and what an awesome
response we received from you. Thank
you! Trinity Church and School gathered
170 shoe boxes. Did you know that a child
receives a shoe box only once in their
lifetime as there are that many children in
need.

If you look at the picture on Pg 15 of the altar
surrounded by quilts, shoe boxes, and food, you will
see the wonderful outreach ministry Trinity has. We are
providing those who are less fortunate with food,
warmth, and gifts.

Trinity School - Food Trip
For the fifth year in a row, students at Trinity have gone on a food shopping field trip to help those
in need. Funding for this special field trip came from school offerings, the Samaritan Fund and
Thrivent. This field trip to Publix provided several lessons in math, social studies, writing,
vocabulary, religion, and community service.
The3rd grade class was accompanied by
their teacher, Mrs. Sharman, several
parents, and Pastor Pete. After getting a
tour of the store and enjoying some food
samples, each student had an individual
list to shop from. They carefully filled 6
carts with
nonperishable food items.
They were able to purchase $500 worth
of canned, boxed, or bagged food such
as peanut butter, powered milk, canned
fruits and vegetables, and cereal. The students had fun working as a team to bring the food into
the church.
During chapel the students presented the food as part of the weekly school offerings. Some of
the food was distributed locally within the school/church community. The remaining food was
given to Osceola Council on Aging. What a great example of sharing God's love in the school
and community. Publix also sent 2 cartloads of bakery items that were distributed to school and
church families.
In the classroom the students put their math
skills to work by comparing prices, finding totals,
and making graphs based on each item. They
wrote essays about their trip, learned about how
different foods help our bodies grow, and how
God wants us to help others.
Mrs. Sharman and her class would like to thank
the Samaritan Fund and Thrivent for their
financial contributions. They would also like to

thank Pastor Pete for all of his help making this special service
project a huge success again. As you shop and celebrate this
holiday season, please remember those in need within our
community. A small gift of food can make a big impact in another
person's life.
The Samaritan Angel Tree
Christmas 2015
For the fifth year, a beautifully decorated “Samaritan Angel Tree” is
located near the entrance of the Sanctuary. Each year approximately
100 angel decorations signify an opportunity to give a child a gift for Christmas.
Some Angel gifts will be for children (or their siblings) who attend Trinity School, are in Church
member families or participate in our Trinity Garden of Hope. You may be surprised to know that
some our Trinity School students can study here only because of vouchers, scholarships and the
Florida Free VPK program.
Please consider taking an angel off of the tree, buy the gift indicated, and then all gifts should be
placed beneath the Samaritan Angel Tree (unwrapped) by Sunday, December 13th. (Please
include the angel tag you took off the tree with your gifts.)
Thanks and God bless you,

The Witness Team
The goal of Trinity’s Witness Team is to share the
good news of Christ’s mission in the world by
providing opportunities for increasing spiritual
growth and health. Our focus is to encourage
fellowship and faith formation by providing content,
sponsorship and invitations to participate in the
ministries of Christ.
The Team Leaders for Witness are Tony Donnelly
and Monica Folk. We are in great need of
additional volunteers to support Witness
ministries, especially Youth Group and Fellowship events! Please contact Tony or Monica or the
Church Office if you are interested!
The various ministry programs that fall under the
Witness Team include Youth, Fellowship groups
(Hilltoppers/Women’s Circles/MOJO/WOJO),
Friends Breakfast, Trinity Cookzz, Trinity Trekkers,
Fellowship events (Lenten dinners, Easter
breakfast, Memorial Day picnic, Oktoberfest),
Outreach, New Member support, School outreach,
and Scouting groups.
The next Witness activity is the Holiday Potluck
after the service on Saturday December 12th.
Please plan to attend and bring a non-perishable
food item for each attendee to contribute to our
Trinity Food Ministries
(“Feeding Cheer Throughout the Year”). There will
be a 50/50 Raffle and quilt

Holiday Gathering
December 1st
Our November gathering was one of our best
attended ever with about 31 folks! Though our guest
presenter, Pastor Roger Prehn, was unable to be
there (due to a funeral where he is wrapping up his
service as Interim Pastor), his lovely wife Andrea
stepped up to the plate for him. She spoke about
the group trip they are planning to Germany and
“the Luther sites” in September of 2016. Several
expressed interest, and there are some posters
around Trinity with more detailed information.
On December 1 at 12 Noon we’ll have our
customary Hilltoppers’ Christmas luncheon. Several
folks have volunteered to bring a crock pot of
home made chili, it will be accompanied by
corn bread and other appropriate sides &
beverages. We’re invited to bring some favorite
Christmas cookies both for dessert, and some to
share in a "cookie swap.” Students from Trinity
School will bring us some cheery seasonal music,
we can sing a couple of Christmas carols. And
each person is asked to bring a small gift or tree
ornament or other
Christmasy item
