22nd Annual School Health Nursing Seminar School Health Services: What A Great Deal July 13th - 15th, 2009 FEATURED SPEAKER – Dr. Patrick Cooper Dr. Pat Cooper currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Early Childhood & Family Learning Foundation in New Orleans, LA. The goals of the Foundation include establishing community centers in the most economically depressed & crime-ridden neighborhoods of New Orleans. These centers will establish universal, quality early child care programs in the neighborhoods & universal, quality coordinated school health programs in the schools of that neighborhood while providing a one-stop health, social service, & education opportunity for the community. Just prior to the New Orleans appointment, Dr. Cooper served as Superintendent of Schools in McComb, MS. It was the belief in McComb, Mississippi, & now in New Orleans, that successful negotiation up through Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs” is key to the success of educational reform, & that coordinated school health is the avenue best used to satisfy those needs. FEATURED SPEAKER – Dr. Art Mollen Dr. Art Mollen is a leading preventive medicine specialist & nationally recognized health & fitness expert. He is the founder & medical director of the Mollen Clinic, where he has successfully changed the lifestyles of thousands of patients. A leader in the fitness arena, Dr. Mollen is founder of the Phoenix 10K race, one of the top races in America. He was chairman of Arizona U.S. Olympic Committee from 1996 to 2000.
