Amity Knows Agriculture
Amity Technology is a fourth-generation
manufacturing company. Founders Howard
Dahl and Brian Dahl are grandsons of E. G.
Melroe, who founded Melroe Manufacturing
Company, and sons of Eugene Dahl. Eugene
was a partner at Melroe and provided
leadership to Steiger Tractor as it grew from
$2 million in annual sales to more than $100
million in six years. In 1977, Howard and Brian
Dahl started Concord, LLC, which became the
leading U.S. air drill manufacturer. Concord
had a particularly strong role in bringing air
seeding technology to the CIS (former Soviet
Union). The Dahls sold most of Concord to
Case Corporation in 1996. Howard and Brian
used products not purchased by Case to launch
Amity Technology.

manufactures and distributes soil sampling
equipment to boost soil management,
fertility, seeding, and other practices.
Amity Technology products are distributed
throughout the world, with the company’s
research, development, manufacturing, and
headquarters in Fargo, North Dakota.
ISO:9001 quality certification Amity Technology
is ISO:9001 registered for quality standard
certification. Amity Technology achieved the
certification in August 2007, recognizing the
company’s quality management systems and
programs. The ISO premise is that consistency
creates reliability, which leads to excellence in
product design, manufacturing, and end use.
Amity Technology sugar beet equipment is
produced through ISO-certified quality systems
and processes.

Apron Chain
Effective Grabroll Adjustments
Amity Technology
harvesters utilize
an apron chain between
the lifting wheels and
grabrolls, which transfer
the crop to the grabrolls
while removing the
majority of the dirt
and reducing grabroll
power requirements.
Multiple grabroll adjustments,
including speed, bed up, bed
down, smooth up, smooth down,
and #4 reverse, let your harvester
easily adapt to soil conditions.

Row Finder
Paddles
The Amity
Technology row
finder is a simple,
effective tool to keep
your harvester on the
row. The row finder
also has a backup
feature that allows
the operator to back
up without lifting the
machine or damaging
the row finder.
The standard paddle has proven effective in
moving sugar beets from the lifting wheels into
the harvester. They are required for protection
when utilizing rock struts.
to
Heavy clay-based soils add extra challenge
to the process. While operating at shallower
digging depths, paddles may be required to
reach farther into the lifting wheels to move the
beets into the machine. For this reason the
plastic paddle (pictured above right) is
available. (Not to be used with rock struts)

Active Depth Control (ADC)
As harvester width has increased, the need for leveling the harvester has become a
key component in delivering a quality product. During normal operation, harvester
weight dynamics are constantly changing: tank full, tank empty, boom full, boom empty.
Changing field conditions from dry to wet further magnify these dynamics. Amity
Technology has always focused on making adjustments that are simple and effective.
With the addition of Active Depth Control, Amity Technology delivers more than a best
guess when it comes to digging depth.
Active Depth Control continuously monitors the digging depth of the harvester. Like
other systems, Active Depth Control from Amity Technology controls the hitch cylinders
to change digging depth, but only Active Depth Control from Amity Technology
additionally controls the rear cylinders to match digging depth across the machine.
This on-the-go adjustment prevents hundreds of tons of extra dirt from being introduced
to the harvester. If extra dirt doesn’t go in the harvester, the machine doesn’t have to
separate it!
The operator monitors digging
depth from the cab with this
easy-to-use controller. There are
readings for both the left and
right wands, as well as the left
and right axle cylinders, keeping
the harvester digging evenly at
all times.

Sensor
From the monitor in the tractor, the operator sets digging
parameters on the circuit board. The sensors, or wands, advise
the circuit board of the digging depth. The circuit board then
instructs the valve block to make adjustments to the hitch and
axle cylinders.
The wands mounted on the
front bar of the harvester send
readings to the hydraulic
system attached to the rear
struts to keep digging depth
constant throughout the field.

Amity Technology is the industry leader in 12 row sugar
beet harvesters. Designed with efficiency in mind, the
Model 2700 Scrub Harvester covers more ground in
less time. Plus, the Model 2700 features a 64-inch-wide
scrub tower for effective cleaning, leaving more dirt in
the field, keeping it out of the truck.

The Amity Technology Model 2700
Wheel Harvester has arrived with the
uncompromised design and engineering
Amity Technology is known for. Growers
requested machine balance, cleaning
capability, and capacity. These requests
were met with Active Depth Control and
efficient cleaning from the front grabrolls,
while the industry-leading 42-inch-wide
wheel gives the Amity Technology Model
2700 Wheel Harvester the capacity required
to efficiently harvest your crop.
Model 2700 – 12 Row Wheel Harvester
The Model 2700 is the largest harvester from Amity
Technology. Like the smaller models, it is available in
both a rear scrub and rear wheel configuration. Further,
the rear scrub has the option of rear grabrolls (standard
jump chain) or no rear grabrolls (extended jump chain).
These options allow you to design your harvester to match
your harvesting requirements.
12 row sugar beet harvesters from Amity Technology
are available in three different configurations.
Standard
Standard jump chain with rear
grabrolls for heavier clay soils
Extended
Extended jump chain without rear
grabrolls for lighter soils. Extended
jump chains offer gentler handling
of sugar beets.

Model 2700 Scrub & Wheel Harvesters
The Model 2700 Scrub Harvester is available with either
a standard (shown) or extended jump chain.
Hydraulic cylinders on the axle allow the machine to be
leveled from side-to-side and steer the rear carrying tires
as shown. Tire sizes include 710/70R38 with standard
axle or 600/60R30.5 with steerable axle (shown).
The Model 2700 has a hydraulic rear grabroll
adjustment, allowing the operator to change the bed
angle from the cab.
A large 4.5-ton holding tank increases field efficiency.

One of the reasons Amity Technology
harvesters have become the choice
of owners around the world is
their simple, effective design
that allows incredible visibility
inside the machine, whether
looking at the lifter wheels
or back through to the
grabrolls and beyond.

With storage and processing efficiency of the harvested sugar beets a focal point of
all processors, delivery of clean beets is essential. The belted chain in the rear scrub of
all Amity Technology harvesters can be adjusted to scrub the beets for additional
cleaning and flexes to continually shed mud that is undesirable in the storage pile. For
drier climates and sandy soils, a rear wheel lifts the sugar beets with fewer wear parts.

Wheel Harvester
Shields with gas shocks provide easy access to working components allowing you to match your harvesting
operation to your current conditions.
Grabrolls on Amity Technology harvesters are designed
to remove any remaining dirt or trash from the sugar
beets before being elevated to the tank. Grabrolls can be
easily adjusted to be more or less aggressive, depending
on field conditions.
