The Chronicler— AIS 46 twitters... february 2016 Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon fon\;k nnkfr fou;e AMITY OLYMPIAD PRIZE DISTRIBUTION The school organized AMITY OLYMPIAD 2016 for students from classes V to VIII. 16 different schools from Gurgaon, Delhi and Faridabad participated in the Olympiad. Based on their ranking, students were awarded at the grand Prize Distribution Ceremony held at the school, presided over by the Assistant District Commissioner, Mr. Vinay Pratap Singh, as the Chief Guest. The event began with the lighting of the lamp followed by a very inspiring speech by the school Principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra. The ceremony was organized for Prize distribution of Amity Olympiad (class 5 to 8), Inter Amity French Olympiad (class 9and 10.) and Inter Amity Commerce Olympiad (class 11 and 12).It was indeed a moment of immense jubilation for all the students. Cash prizes and certificates were awarded to the first three toppers of each class for Math and Science. Modern DPS , Faridabad bagged the Overall Rollers Trophy and Suncity School , Gurgaon got the Runners Up Trophy of Amity Olympiad. Amity 43 was the proud achiever of the Champions trophy for Commerce Olympiad (Class 11) and Amity 46 (Class 12).For French Olympiad, AIS, PushpVihar lifted the Rollers trophy ( class 9) and AIS Saket for class 10.School Principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra, congratulated the students on their brilliant performance and urged them to continue to give their best in all the other events, which are going to take place in future. FAMILY QUIZ Amity International School, in a yet another endeavor to highlight the Family values, on 20.02.2016 organized first of its kind ‗Family Quiz‘ on Feb 20, 2016 under the dynamic leadership of their dear Principal Ms Arti Chopra. Dr. Malhotra ,Senior Consultant Amity Institute for Competitive Examinations and Ms. Meenakshi ,Director of AFYCP graced the occasion. The program started with the lighting of the lamp followed by the welcome of the guests by the Principal .There after the teams which had qualified in the written round were called onto the stage. Students of various schools participated along with their parents in this stimulating and challenging quiz. The first three teams won Gift hampers. After the Quiz, Parents also got an insight into the AFYCP Program through a Power point presentation by the regional head of AFYCP Ms. Ruhi Banerjee. The program concluded with the vote of thanks. COLOUR SPLASH 2016 CONTEST Amity Winners of first prize in the most coveted NIE- TOI initiative Colour Splash2016 contest...Congratulatios!! The Chronicler— AIS 46 twitters... VIVO WORKSHOP A workshop hosted by VIVO was conducted for the students in the school premises, which integrated first aid and recognizing symptoms of fatal illnesses to ward off emergency situations and operating Fire extinguishers to perform CPR- all into one single module. The students not only learnt but also had hands-on practical experience which made them much more aware and capable of tackling any such contingent situations. Personal and travel safety was also spoken about and it came to be especially beneficial for the young leaders who will soon leave the safety and comfort of their beloved school and step out into the real world. SOLO SINGING COMPETITION Students participated in Solo Song competition held at Chiranjeev Bharti School on Feb 12, 2016. The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation by schools of Gurgaon. Budding musicians competed under various categories .Melody was ripe in the air and young hearts could be seen swaying to soulful beats. Srushti Mishra of Class 6 and Sana Garde of class 8 emerged victorious and won first prize in ― Melody Maker‘s Hunt‖. YOUTH POWER UPASTHITI: HAR BACCHE KI UMANG Decorating walls of Sugam NGO school with Graffiti: Upasthiti has been successful in setting up a shelter school. The main purpose of the visit was to ensure that the underprivileged students were motivated to learn and study. Upastithi took over the school run by Sugam NGO and provided it with the EWS quota syllabus and curriculum. Several activities like colouring competition, upasthiti rockstars, setting up of library, distributing study kits and books, rules about handwashing etc were conducted. The youth power team of amity 46 believes that the best way to bring a change is to be the change. They have ensured this through many shelter schools, one of which is through their association with the Sugam NGO. The Chronicler— AIS 46 twitters... STREET PLAY ON ROAD SAFETY As part of Gurgaon Road Safety Mega Festival 2015-16 organized by Gurgaon Traffic police, the students presented a street play to spread awareness about how to maintain safety while commuting. The students presented a NukkadNatak as part of that initiative. The street play highlighted the norms and regulations to be followed on the road. They also gave the message on how to maintain vigilance while driving.Apart from that they explained methods of controlling traffic in front of the school. Other safety norms like use of helmet, seat belts controlling speed limit, wrong parking, under age driving were also discussed. Besides that students also participated in painting competition on road safety. Overall it was an enriching experience. WALK OF HOPE Walk of Hope is a padayatra for peace & harmony by the Manav Ekta Mission – from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. 15th February 2016 - Day 400 of the walk was marked by participation of students of Amity International School, Gurgaon-46. The children walked with Sri M, holding placards and flags—thoroughly enjoying themselves while being gently shepherded by their teachers. Our students from Global Times interviewed Sri.M and which was a wonderful experience for them. The Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi lauded the Walk of Hope for its inclusive nature and extended his whole-hearted support for the unifying endeavour. The Walk of Hope was flagged off on 12 January 2015, the birth anniversary of a great prophet of interfaith harmony, Swami Vivekananda. Starting from the Gandhi Memorial Mandapam in Kanyakumari and concluding in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, this initiative will reach out to 10 million fellow Indians. He has been leading a band of people on a 'Walk of Hope' from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, meeting people on the way, talking to them and spreading the message of interfaith harmony, sustainable living, community health, equality, women's empowerment and education. He has set up several schools, a healthcare institution and multiple centres that promote inter-faith harmony and spiritual inquiry. The Chronicler— AIS 46 twitters... Shashwat Vishal (VI A), Paridhi Maheshwari (VII A), Arpita Gupta (VIII A) participated in Science Quiz in Euro International School and won First Prize. Vishnu Pandey (IX) participated in English Debate Competition at Shalom Hills International School and won Best Speaker for the motion. Shiney Ahuja (IV) won First Prize in English Category, Mansimar (IV) won Second Prize in Hindi Category, Anubha Mathur (III) and Yash Madan (IV) won First Prize in Spell Bee in Book Amour Competition at Ridge Valley School The Chronicler— AIS 46 twitters... WORKSHOP BY DR. STALIN MALHOTRA FOR CLASS X STUDENTS OPTING FOR SCIENCE STREAM A workshop was held at AIS-46 by Dr. Stalin Malhotra for class X students who are interested to opt for Science stream in the coming session. The workshop emphasized on innate qualities that every student carries and the importance of how & why to work on these qualities especially in the crucial years wherein they will be preparing for the competitive exams. He highlighted the importance of the Synchro programme offered by the Amity Group of Schools where each student is guided according to his latest qualities and potential. The classroom teaching balances both competitive exam preparation as well as Class XII board exam preparation through the teaching of the same subject matter. PAINTING COMPETITION The creative genius, Urvi Singh of class V, Amity International School Sector 46, Gurgaon made the school proud by winning First position in Juniors category Inter School Painting Competition held at Rabindra Nath World School on the topic ‗ Stay healthy and Stay Happy‘. School Principal Mrs. Arti Chopra congratulated her for the great achievement.
