With this kind of experience, our classes, vocational arts, sports programs and student run businesses are preparing our students of today for the world of tomorrow. Core classes, vocational programs, and electives currently offered at Cimarron High School include; MATH-Geometry, Algebra I, Algebra II, Algebra III/ Pre Calculus, Calculus, College and Intermediate Algebra, SCIENCE-Physical Science, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science SOCIAL STUDIES-US History, NM History, World History, US Government/Economics LANGUAGE ARTS-English 9,10,11,12, Journalism, Honors/AP English FOREIGN LANGUAGE-French I, French II, French III, Spanish I, Spanish II, Spanish III (foreign languages taken on line with language specialist as supervisor) FINE & PRACTICAL ARTS-Creative Art I, Dual credit Advanced Art, Band (9 state championships) COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY/GRAPHICS-Video Production, Web Design, Graphic Arts/design, Broadcast Productions PHYSICAL EDUCATION– Athletics, Physical Education, Health SPECIALTY– Drivers Education, Study Skills, Entrepreneur student run businesses in Laser Engraving Shop, T-shirt printing and Embroidery Shop SPORTS-Girls Volleyball, Boys & Girls Basketball, Boys & Girls Cross Country, Boys Baseball, Boys & Girls Track & Field Graduating seniors have gone on to pursue advanced degrees at colleges and universities that include, UNM, University of Arkansas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma University, Johns Hopkins Medical Baylor University and Bryn Mawr to name a few. Many are serving in the various branches of our military and many are currently successful entrepreneurs. We are proud of all our graduates and their personal successes. We encourage our students to participate in advanced programs such as AP (Advanced Placement), Dual Credit, and Concurrent Enrollment, which provide our students the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. Most of these classes are available at no cost to the student and their credits earned will transfer to most state colleges. Seniors have graduated with as many as 20 college credit hours earned while here at CHS. That’s an entire year of college already completed for these students. Go CHS RAMS!
