Capitol City Corvette Club Meeting Minutes
May 16,2010
Meeting called to order: 4:00 pm
Melody: Talked to prospective new members at the Herndon Chevy
Customer Appreciation Day Sat May is". One gentlemen is going to join.
Approval of last month's meeting minutes
Treasurer's report: $11 00.00
Spring Valley Car Show: Ray and Jim presented school with check for
$2500.00
Registration: $1100.00
Food stand: $400.00
Bake Sale: $100.00
Vendors/Sponsors: $250.00
50/50: $118.00
Auction: $834.00
Jim and Ray sent out picture of check being presented to Jeff Freeman from
SVHS, a letter of thanks, and a dash plaque to each vendor and sponsor of
our event.
Hope to get a group of members together in September to start working on
next years show. Setting up vendors and sponsors for the show, etc.
Herndon Chevrolet Customer Appreciation Day: May 15,2010
Had about 28 corvettes show up. Next year need members to wear a Tshirt
with Herndon! CCCC on it so the salesmen can distinguish between us and
the customers.

NCM: Bill has raffle tickets for Black Corvette Convertible $10.00 each
See him for events happening at the Museum. 2 new driving simulators at
the museum now.
Old Business:
IRS: Jim has filed income taxes for the club/ been in contact with IRS to
answer more questions/ no approval yet on the non profit status.
Suggestion: Setting up an events committee in the club/ be responsible for
sending out emails and getting information to members to spark some
interest in the events, setting up times to meet, contacting events
coordinators to let them know the club is coming to their event, etc ...
Valve Cover Races: Jim made a valve cover car to show to the club. He has
made a track also. He thought it would be fun to have competitions. Wants
other members to make their own valve cover car. Competitions would help
to raise money for club and other events.
Future Fundraisers: Be thinking about fundraisers for the rest of the year and
what charities you would like to sponsor
Car washes was brought up as an idea to raise money with low cost in
materials
Charities to sponsor mentioned: Newberry Boys Farm, Fisher House
Hope to have cook out with Fisher House soon
Wednesday nite groceries:
May 19th: Hudsons Barbeque in Lexington SC
June 2nd: Copper River Grill in Irmo SC
June 16th: O'Charleys in Irmo SC
Future places: Brix in Sandhills, Kavachy's in Lexington

Jimmy Tanner: Teacher at Irmo High School: Has had several strokes and
his family is in need of our help financially. Anyone who would like to make
a donation to the family please let Jim know.
