why are trees important?
Planting trees is one of the most
rewarding ways of avoiding climate
change.
Trees and forests are necessary elements
that regulate the climate, the reason for
that is because they absorb carbon
dioxide and contain 50% more carbon
dioxide than the atmosphere.

Tree Day is carried on since 2003 year,
inaugurated each year by Poland-wide
and international tree planting action
on October 10th

Program is based on the activities of local
communities, in particular children and youth,
in co-operation with local governments, public
administration, non-governmental organizations
and business enterprises

The aim of the program is education
for sustainable development and to raise
awareness of ecological matters in terms
of environmental protection and climate
change on Earth

Mutual tree planting within the program
causes an increase in forest growth and forest
density, which decreases the negative effects
of climate change on Earth

Tree Day on the United Nations Climate Change

Tree Hugger Project „Lonely Tree, Lonely People – We’re All in it Together” was
presented in Poznan on Plac Wolnosci. This environmental art was desiged to help
us re-descover our relationship with nature. Project was realized by Klub Gaja and
the artists Agnieszka Gradzik and Wiktor Szostalo in collaboration with the City of
Poznan.
