The East Haddam Business Association (EHBA) is presenting the 3rd annual Taste of East Haddam, Saturday, April 30
(rain date Sunday, May 1) outdoors at Heritage Park, located at the junction of Route 149 and Great Hillwood Rd, next to
the Senior Center. You are cordially invited to showcase your restaurant, food establishment, or products by serving a
free appetizer or food sample. Open to all East Haddam restaurants and community organizations with a valid food
license. Your booth will be free of charge and all food vendors will be awarded free membership in the EHBA. All
types of food/drink are welcome. Please inform us of your selected type of food/drink by March 20. Vendors will need to
complete a shorter version of the Chatham Health District Temporary Food Permit application (see separate forms) by
4/16/16. The EHBA will pay the permit filing fee for each food applicant.
Tickets will be sold onsite the day of the event. There were over 500 attendees last year, and 2016 is expected to be
bigger and better! In addition to your food/drink tastings, provide 2 serving staff, table, tablecloth, serving plates or
cups, decorations, set up props, and your own method/power, for heating or cooling your tasting. A handwashing
station is required. You will need to provide a tent to cover your booth-bring stakes or other method to tie down in case
of wind. (See Health District application for food service details.) In addition to your free samples, the sales of gift
certificates, or giveaway coupons are encouraged–anything to help entice the tasters to visit you at your regular place of
business. Because of permit requirements, the sale of prepared food will not be allowed. Booth setup begins at 9:00am,
so arrive as needed to have food at serving temperature for Health District inspection by 10:30am.
We will be publicizing the event on radio, social media and print. Proceeds will be donated to the East Haddam Food
Bank & East Haddam Fuel Bank, and will be used for the EHBA Nathan Hale-Ray High School Scholarship.
To have time to complete the Health District permits and promote your business, we do need to hear from you by March
20th regarding your participation. We hope you consider joining us at the EHBA Taste of East Haddam! For more
