Background
I have operated Fresh Cut Grass as a full-service advertising agency
since 2001. The agency has done work for a variety of clients, large
and small, in all different industries - from retail to entertainment to
health care and technology.
Honestly, the projects that have always been the most satisying have
been those where the work can do the most good. I love helping the
small business owner, the club or organization that serves the community, or designing something for a friend trying to get someting off
the ground (a “cottage industry” business, a fabulous party). I still do
work for those bigger clients, but would like to do more of these more
fulfilling jobs. Hence, FCG *LIte - a way to branch off and do smaller
projects that allow ME to enjoy a variety of work while allowing YOU
access to the professional level design that will get you noticed or
add that special touch to your party or event or presentation. I look
forward to working together.

Good Deeds Personal Assistant Services
Good Deeds was founded
by former colleagues Beth
Miller and Sarah Harris to
provide personal assistance
services for highly competent
but overscheduled women.
Because women in the target
group, when interviewed about
Good Deeds' offerings, exhibited
some guilt over not having time
to perform some of the tasks
themselves, it was important that the service was positioned as a helping hand rather than an impersonal organizer or hoity-toity secretary.
Equally important to this audience was that the company be approachable, but not unprofessional. We developed a logo system for Good
Deeds with colorful illustrations of a "helping hand" at work and the
tagline "Let Us Do That" which enabled the home-based company
to make a professional-yet-approachable statement while communicating a wide range of services.
Sherborn Day Spa
A beautifully renovated Victorian
house, the Sherborn Day Spa is a
full service salon and spa offering
massage therapies, skin treatments,
facials, manicures, pedicures, hairstyling and much more. When the
proprietor came to me, she was looking for something that would differentiate the spa from others, and become the basis for her logo and
printed materials including a grand
opening inviation, a spa menu, gift
certificates, appointment cards, shopping bags, product labels and much
more. FCG developed a position for the
spa that had to work with the alreadydecorated (in high Victorian damask
and fringe) space AND the full menu of
massage, skin and beauty treatments
the spa offered. We presented an interpretation of the rejuvenation and
healing found in the hot springs of the
early 1900s - think Saratoga’s natural
springs frequented by the likes of
FDR. From this idea, we developed
a logo, a palette and marketing materials carrying the message
of escape, rejuvenation and renewal with the tagline, “Around the
corner, a million miles away.”
