Artistic portraits of your
DOG
is having an open call for all artists and
their pets. We would like submissions of
paintings: oil or acrylic, mixed media
constructions, most any media you can
hang on a wall.
CAT, PUPPY, OR
PET
We are looking for interpretive creations
of your puppy, kitty, goldfish or
“pet” anaconda.
Paint the spirit of your “best friend”.

Please, NO straight photo print portraits
of “Fido”
That doesn't mean you cant submit digital
art images. Go photoshop crazy. Cut,
paste, scrape, copy, stretch, recolor, add,
subtract and print. Be original.
And stay focused on your pet
Get creative, many of us have pets and
they become a part of the family and as
such find a special place in our hearts,
lives and maybe a place setting at the
dinner table. I have a “puppy” and we
just gave her an imaginary friend
named “doodles”.
So find the spirit of your pet and paint.

permanent, loving homes, Over 15,000 people benefit
every year from our Humane Education programs
and workshops. We also have an Animal Safehouse
Program which provides temporary foster care for
victims of domestic abuse, as well as the Second
Chance Program, which gives pets from other shelters
a second chance to be adopted. We are also the first
solar powered shelter in the ENTIRE COUNTRY!

There is no entry fee
Eligibility is restricted to ages 18 and older.
Artwork should be ready to hang and may
not exceed 36 in. x 36 in. in size.
Ready to hang means two screwed in “D”
rings and an appropriate size wire, please.
3-D sculpture/assemblage should not
exceed 16wide x 14deep x 24tall
Submission MUST include Artist name,
address, phone, e-mail, title, medium,
dimensions, statement about the work and
price or nfs.
The artist’s statement will be posted on wall
next to artwork.
Please send a digital file with 72 dpi and
no larger than1200 pixels in the longest
dimension. Most digital cameras will do this
automatically at about the 2 megapixel
setting
There will be a jury process based on
artistic merit and gallery space
requirements.

We will take the utmost care of all your
work and do our best to protect it at all
times, but we cannot be responsible for any
loss or damage incurred before during or
after the exhibit. We reserve the right to
photograph work for publicity purposes.
