Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) Grade 1 – Test 4
Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) Grade 1 – Test 4 Directions: Teacher may read each problem to the students, as many times as they feel is necessary. Test should be given near the end of each quarter. Introduction: A major instructional goal of CGI is that instruction should be appropriate for each child’s level of knowledge. This assessment tool is only one method of assessing student’s thinking. Encourage students to use the picture and work area when solving the problem. Use this assessment tool to look at how the student thought about the problem. Highlight problem areas on the chart below. Use the chart for grouping, conferencing or moving students to higher levels of problem solving. Looking at problem types successfully solved by students will help “us” to move the student to more complex problem types and more advanced strategies.
