someone’s feelings and ideas.

Cimory Excursion Grade 3
Grade 1 went on a Safari
Adventure
On the 20th of October, four classes of Grade 1 students, 9 teachers and a security officer, headed
to Taman Safari for their excursion. The students enthusiastically waved goodbye to their
parents before they got on one of
the two big buses that morning.
Some students were even armed
with binoculars and safari hats!
The adventure in Taman Safari
Indonesia began as the tour
guides hopped intothe buses to
greet the overzealous students.
From the comfort of the big bus,
the guides gave wonderful insights about the free roaming
animals which were in their natural habitats. The big bus meandered through the winding roads
and crossed the streams to the
delight of the students and teachers. The students scribbled quickly on their zoo worksheets every
time they caught a glimpse of the
animals.
The most exciting part of the trip
was wheneveryone got off the
bus to stroll into the Baby Zoo.
Students had the wonderful opportunity to come in closer contact with some of the animals. It
was indeed a memorable experience to get a chance to walk
through the dark and damp caves
to observe the various types of
reptiles, birds and bats.
Then, the students were treated
to twoanimal performances.The
first was the ‘Animal Variety
Show’, where dogs, birds, monkeys and even an Orang Utan,
performed various stunts such as
jumping through loops and maneuvering around obstacles. The
show was not only entertaining
but it was educational as the
students were taught about animal conservation effort and animal appreciation in our lives.
After a hearty meal of fried chicken and rice, The‘Dolphin Show’
was the next. The intelligence of
these sea creatures were highlighted as they answered mathematical questions from the audience by splashing their tails to
correspond to their answers.
The students scrambled to get
their souvenirs at the pop-up
stores before taking a short tram
ride to the bus bay. It was indeed
a fun-filled day of learning journey!
This quarter grade 3 had a
chance to have an excursion to
CIMORY RIVERSIDE in puncak.
There were some activities that
the students can learn.
Kidzania Excursion Grade 2
After a quick briefing the grade
2’s were ready for their excursion. Excitement built as the
students chatted away on the
bus deciding on what places they
would most like to visit.
Most of the students had been to
Kidzania before, but this was the
first time they had been able to
share the experience with so
many friends.
They would also have to learn to
delegate and take into account
their friends choices as they
would have to decide as small
groups on which activities they
would do together.
It didn’t take long to arrive and
after quickly being escorted from
the bus by Kidzania staff, divided
into small groups and escorted
by a teacher, they were off. It
was non-stop educational fun for
the next 4 hours as the students
role-played authentic activities,
explored their interests and learnt
about different professions.
The students only stopped for the
briefest of lunches as they couldn’t wait to get back and try their
hand at being journalists, university students, rock climbers, models and fire-fighters. On completing each activity students eagerly
noted down their experiences in
a notebook provided by their IL
teacher.
It all ended too quickly for the
grade 2s, and sadly we had to
regroup and return to school.
Tired but happy the students
eagerly shared their stories with
their awaiting parents.
First visit, students got the welcome drink which is strawberry
milk. After that students walked to
go to the information station. The
guide explained very clearly until
the students looked enjoy to hear
his explanation. The information
talked about how is the process
to make milk and also some information about a cow.
Kebun Raya Bogor Excursion
Grade 4
On 20th October 2015, Grade 4
embarked on an excursion to
Kebun Raya Bogor. After a
pleasant and traffic-free bus ride,
we arrived at our destination.
The students were divided into
three groups and began their
adventure
First they took a tour of the botanical gardens. They learned
about their history and the different plants growing there. They
were even able to glimpse Istana
Bogor in the distance. However,

G5 Community Service to
Rawinala
Community service is a new
program that the Primary School
has in this academic year as part
of the excursion program. The
purposes of doing community
service are to help our students
raise their awareness of their
environment and to gain personal
experiences by serving other
people.
On the 20th of October 2015, the
grade 5 students visited and
performed community service at
Rawinala, Kramatdjati. Rawinala
is a special school and shelter for
children who are blind, have low
vision or other disabilities.
At Rawinala, we learned several
simple gestures of sign
languages, met and interacted
with Rawinala studentst during
the school tour, made salted
eggs and beads, played
angklung, other instruments and
sang together with Rawinala
students.
Although this experience was the
first experience for our children, it
was an eye opener for both
students and teachers. Students
were able to meet and get to
know new friends who are with
disabilities. Suprisingly, our
students enjoyed this experience
and would love to go back to do
activities together in the future.
This community service gave
opportunity for our students to go
outside of their comfort zone and
to be brave in interacting with
other people who are different.
After the trip, they reflected and
learned to be more independent,
responsible, respective and treat
people equally. Overall, it was an
amazing experience for all of us.
We were honored and very
grateful to have this opportunity
to do a community service at
Rawinala.
Some testimonies from our
students:
“I felt like I can make a difference
in my life and I met many of good
students there. Some of them are
not blind but others are blind and
deaf. It was hard to think what
they can do. It made me think to
be more diligent.” (by Alexa)
“This is the most meaningful
experience. I met a friend,
Samuel who made me feel I want
to go to Rawinala again because
it was nice”
