The core principals of Trauma Informed Care provide an opportunity for adolescents to raise their awareness of what has happened to them, to develop a sense of trust with others and ultimately empowers them to make more positive life choices. • Family Participation Family participation lies at the core of our integrated treatment program. Family involvement improves a resident’s chance of full and lasting recovery, and helps the resident understand that the family system is more powerful than any individual member alone. Family participation includes: • Family education night • Ongoing family treatment sessions • Therapeutic home visits • Participation in treatment team meetings • Therapeutic On-Site School Residents will participate in a state approved curriculum emphasizing core subject areas (math, language, social studies & science). Licensed/certified instructors provide five hours of daily educational instruction individualized to meet the student’s specific educational needs inclusive of special education. Aftercare Services Key to a successful transition following discharge is the development of an effective aftercare plan. Planning for aftercare begins long before actual discharge and may include any one of the following options: discharge to home, discharge to a group home or discharge to partial hospitalization services. All options would include the care of a primary therapist and psychiatrist.
