Founder, Chairman, and CEO of LRN; Author of HOW: Why HOW We Do Anything Means Everything Tom Ridge Former Governor of Pennsylvania and First Secretary of Homeland Security “The key to America’s future is maintaining the peace and prosperity we enjoy in our communities. Tom Ridge’s expertise as an innovative governor and national leader for our country is invaluable.” —Senator John McCain. During the most challenging time in recent American history, the Honorable Tom Ridge was entrusted with the task of protecting the nation as the first secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. In his time serving as the country’s primary liaison in the international fight against terrorism, Ridge led the newly created agency under incredible time and security constraints, integrating thousands of personnel, coordinating nearly two dozen agencies, and establishing a culture of innovation that continues to keep America secure. A decorated Vietnam veteran, former congressman, and former governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Ridge draws from every aspect of his remarkable career to enlighten audiences on the state of the globe. From the professional to the personal, Ridge offers key strategies for mission success and how to establish the vision to get there. Robert Fogarty Founder of Dear World Robert Fogarty founded Dear World, a photo project that unites people through pictures in his distinct message-on-skin style. Its precursor, Dear New Orleans, became an alternative platform for people to express their love for one of the planet’s most beloved cities. Before launching Dear World, Fogarty noticed that the simple portraits could be a vehicle for shared communication regardless of race, religion, or language. His work is now seen over two million times per month. He has photographed Soledad O’Brien, Drew Brees, Chris Paul, Susan Sarandon, Rahm Emmanuel, and thousands of others. He has also been featured in the Washington Post and INC. He has spoken at and photographed the Harvard Social Enterprise Conference, Chicago Ideas Week, and TEDx Silicon Valley; and photographed the Clinton Global Initiative. Les Brown Bestselling Author and Master Motivator As a renowned professional speaker, author, and television personality, Les Brown has risen to national prominence by delivering a high-energy message that tells people how to shake off mediocrity and live up to their greatness. It is a message Les Brown has learned from his own life and one he is helping others apply to their lives. Born a twin in low-income Liberty City in Miami, Florida, Les and his twin brother, Wes, were adopted when they were six weeks old by Mamie Brown. Mrs. Brown was a single woman who had very little education or financial means, but a very big heart. As a child, Les’s inattention to school work, his restless energy, and the failure of others to recognize his true potential resulted in him being mislabeled a slow learner. The label and the stigma stayed with him, damaging his self-esteem to such an extent that it took years to overcome. WOrld Congress 2012 ★ Boston 3 Speakers John J.
