BIOGRAPHY
Jo Elms is available to perform solo, duo, trio, quartet up to a full 8 piece band each having a variety of music styles
available to suit your needs from Jazz & easy listening through to pop, R & B, classic hits & the music that spans
today's radio waves.
Jo began her career as a professional entertainer at the age of 18 and has been an established music industry
professional for over 20 years. This gives Jo the confidence and experience to offer entertainment that's individually
tailored to suit whatever vision you have for your special day.
Jo works with a team of professional musicians who have performed together for many years, enabling them to work
harmoniously with a real team spirit. All members pride themselves on the ability to read the crowd in any situation
and will provide sophisticated, upmarket and appropriate entertainment catered for your individual and specific
needs.
Jo Elms
Born in the U.K, Jo Elms was raised in New Zealand where she graduated with a Major in Jazz Performance from
the CHCH School of Jazz and in the same year was awarded the 'Jazz Soloist of the South Island' Award. Since
then Jo has gone on to study various forms of entertainment including dance, stage/television acting and vocal
technique.

Jo's first single, Closest Thing to Heaven, was released through Warner Bros NZ, and went to #5 on the New
Zealand pop charts, her list of credits include a lead role in The Official Tribute to the Blues Brothers-Live on Stage,
a featured role in the TV series Hercules, a lead role in the U.S TV series Deadly Women and singing backing vocals
for artists such as Rick Price, Glenn Shorrock, Tina Arena, Mark Williams, Margaret Urlich, Julie Anthony and Dame
Edna Everage.
Jo has won awards for her original compositions in the Australian National Song-writing Competition and the Musicoz
Awards. She has appeared on Mornings with Kerri-Anne Kennerley and has given electric performances at The
Manly International Jazz Festival, The Darling Harbour Jazz and Blues Festival, The Norfolk Island Jazz Festival,
The NZ International Jazz and Blues Festival and The Taronga Zoo Twilight Series Concerts.
