Contributing to the hotel’s sophisticated

register before being personally escorted up to

A major renovation was completed in 2009
with great care to preserve the ornate flourishes
of this architectural masterpiece. The
majority of guestrooms and all suites feature
a new décor and redesigned and enlarged
bathrooms, and two ultra-luxurious top floor
suites have been added. The richly detailed
guest rooms are both stylish and comfortable,
evoking a European townhouse feel. Many
suites feature formal dining rooms for private
entertaining, glass-enclosed atrium terraces
and outdoor balconies with sweeping views of
the Manhattan skyline.

Hôtel Plaza Athénée
The Zagat-rated restaurant, Arabelle, with
its beautiful gold-domed ceiling, features
modern American cuisine in an elegant setting.
Murano glass and brass chandeliers combine
touches of Europe and Asia in the restaurant,
known for its creative seasonal menus. The
exotic atmosphere and eclectic décor of the
Bar Seine lounge is appreciated not only by
hotel guests, but is a favorite lounge for the
discerning Manhattanite. The amber-lit bar
blends the feeling of Africa, Europe and Asia
in artwork and furnishings with rich velvet
curtains, Moroccan olive jars, red lacquered
walls, animal print fabrics and leather floors.
The comfortable Bar Seine combines an
upscale lounge with the intimacy of home.
Afternoon tea and light snacks are served daily.
Arabelle restaurant and Bar Seine were once
the locale for a Sex and the City episode.
