Hidden Haikus – enjoy and develop short poems inspired by nature in a woodland glen. Enjoy the winning ‘Wild’, ‘Wood’ or ‘Water’ poems from our Children’s Poetry Competition. Weave with Ways with Willow to create a living tunnel and take home your own willow creation too. Build a den, shoot an arrow, watch a bird of prey soar, find out how to create your own Springwatch. Identify different wildlife, including birds, moths, badgers and bugs on a Trenython nature trail. Talk to conservation organisations like Friends of the Fowey Estuary & Cornwall Wildlife Trust. Cook over campfires, make kites, build a bug hotel, plant it, grow it, and eat it... with National Trust Rangers. Make masks with Wild Futures, Help Buglife to save the planet. She has also written the Poppy the Pirate Dog early readers, based on her Dalmatian. Liz, who lives in St Ives, will talk about her books on Saturday. Meet the Railway Rabbits, Charmseekers and many more when Georgie comes from Launceston to talk about her books and sign copies on both days. www.georgieadams.com Charles Lamb began writing about Tambow the Wombat when he sailed from his home in Fowey with his wife and two young children in a 35 foot sailing boat through the Mediterranean, across the Atlantic to the Caribbean, and then eventually up to Canada. He will introduce you to this irrepressible animal and sign copies of the three books in the series. www.tambowthewombat.com Jackie Morris is an author and illustrator of picture books including Song of the Golden Hare, The Snow Leopard, I am Cat and many others, for young and old alike. She lives in a small house by the sea in Wales where her life is ruled by cats, although now and again she escapes them to paint. You can see Jackie on Saturday turn a blank piece of paper into a small work of art that will be raffled to raise funds for the festival.
