Have you seen the Rube Goldberg contraptions that make something happen? A Rube Goldberg apparatus is a deliberately overengineered or overdone machine that performs a very simple task in a very complex fashion, usually including a chain reaction. We are going to look at some basic machines and techniques (like an animal trap or a toaster) and figure a way to improve it.
