Centrally located at Fremont Community Center, children participate in a full week camp packed with exciting new programs and
old favorites! Each week is a different theme and includes a visit to
the Aqua Adventure Waterpark, nature hikes, crafts, singing, cooking and more. Children in the Little Bit of Sunnyside Camp must
have attended daycare or preschool, Camp staff will have college
credits in Early Childhood classes and experience with this age
group. Bring a snack, lunch and water. Registrants may enroll in Extended Care at the Central Park Teen Center from 3:00-6:30PM. See

This exciting adventure program is not for the faint at heart! Lakeside Village Adventure will keep active children on the run with a
host of great outdoor activities such as swimming, hiking, fishing,
team building, cooking, wildlife exploration! Every week on Thursdays we will visit Aqua Adventure Waterpark. *The weeks of JUNE

Maximum challenge, maximum fun! Week I: The campers will plan
and develop a kid-friendly attraction, decide what it should look
like and create it out of cardboard and other materials. It could be
a zoo, a toy factory, an arcade, an interactive museum-whatever
ends up being formed and shaped by the campers. Week II and III:
For the love of BRICKS: Does your child love bricks? Legos,
megablocks and such? We will pack our days with brick-inspired
crafts, cooking, science experiments, games...even songs! So much
fun to be had! Please bring a lunch. Aqua Adventure Waterpark
fieldtrips will be: August 12 and August 19. Bring a snack, lunch,
and water. Registrants may enroll in Extended Care at the Central

Camps and create experiences to remember! Each week will offer
new discoveries. Come and explore every week with activities centered around a specific theme. Campers will engage in learning art,

Hunger Games

and movie series! Kids will represent the Districts of Panem here at
the Capital (CENTRAL PARK). Kids will learn different skills like Katniss Everdeen to survive the trials of Capital Arena! They’ll create
traps, discover the local wildlife, build shelters, and compete in

Mini Maker DIY Hack Camp
Ages 7-11
As a Maker or a Hacker, young people will have fun learning to
‘hack’ a solution to a problem or make a fun craft using odds-andends of common household objects, duct tape and other fun things.
Have you seen the Rube Goldberg contraptions that make something happen? A Rube Goldberg apparatus is a deliberately overengineered or overdone machine that performs a very simple task
in a very complex fashion, usually including a chain reaction. We
are going to look at some basic machines and techniques (like an
animal trap or a toaster) and figure a way to improve it. Everything
will be safe and well thought out as we will engineer that into the
solution. Bring a snack, lunch, and water. Registrants may enroll in

In this camp, TEENS (and pre-teens) will get cAMPed up for a fun
summer in Fremont and Central Park- Lake Elizabeth! Participants
will become the FACE of Fremont TEENS as they explore all of the
cool stuff to do at Central Park- Lake Elizabeth. Spend a day Paddle
Boating, Stand-up Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, and playing field
games! During the camp, we’ll take pictures of the TEENS having a
BLAST, as well as write testimonials about our experiences to be
used on the City FACEBOOK pages and marketing. Don’t miss the
opportunity to be the FACE OF FREMONT! Aug. 24th and 25th: This
will be a 2-day camp to end the summer. Bring a snack, lunch, and
water. Registrants may enroll in Extended Care at the Central Park

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to be a Firefighter? The
Junior Fire Rescuers Camp offers the chance to see if you have
what it takes. Activities will focus on firefighting basics: leadership,
teamwork, search and rescue, ropes and knots, hose drills, and
basic first aid. All instruction will be given by real Fremont Firefighters at the Fire Department’s state of the art Tactical Training Center.
This camp promises to be fun, challenging and educational. A camp
t-shirt and a daily snack will be provided. This camp was VERY popular last year, so sign up early to get your spot reserved and to
guarantee your t-shirt size! The Fremont Fire Tactical Training Center is located at 7200 Stevenson Blvd, 94539. There are no extended care options for this camp.

EARTH: Long, long, ago, Sabercats, Wooly Mammoths, Sloths and
Camels roamed this land called Fremont! The hills were covered
with tall native grasses and wild animals grazed the land while
others roamed freely. Imagine that! Discover some of the mysteries
and artifacts of the early ice age mammals. Learn to cast “fossils”
and make your own imprints with them. We’ll take a field trip to
Sabercat Historic Park and use our treasure map to find the lost
“artifact”.

Ultimate Sports Camp

How will your child spend their summer? Have them spend their summer with us. The Ultimate Sports Camp is held at Central Park, which
allows us to utilize everything that the park has to offer, to put together a fantastic learning experience for all campers. Ultimate Sports
Camp is best suited for beginner to intermediate level campers, but our staff has the necessary experience and training to challenge
campers of all ability levels. Staff will teach traditional sports and non-traditional games that improve coordination and cardio fitness.
These weeks will include field trips to Fremont Park Golf and Practice Center, Aqua Adventure Water Park and Fremont animal shelter. FULL

Summer Lacrosse Academy
Ages 5-18
The Fremont Summer Lacrosse Academy provides a fun and instructive camp that has been designed by Santa Clara University
Lacrosse Coach Greg Mengis. Coach Mengis and his certified and
experienced group of lacrosse instructors will coach the academy
participants to help develop fundamental lacrosse skills such as
passing, catching, shooting, and scooping ground balls. This camp
is for both boys and girls, and all basic equipment is provided.

Los Cerritos Community Center. It’s the latest spin off to the ever popular all day/half
day camp like the Indoor Sports Jam summer camps. This camp is
an indoor and outdoor sports camp to maximize the fun! Looking
to hang out and have a great time with some friends, then this is

This summer, the City of Fremont and US Sports Coaching will be
offering a soccer camp for experienced players looking for a competitive level camp. Every day of the week the players go through a
new technical skill. Throughout the week, campers play in mini and
larger scrimmages to teach the skill/technique they have learned
that day in a game setting. The USSC staff is made up of American,
British, European and South American backgrounds with a playing
background and licensing for top level soccer instruction. Shin

camps designed around Skills and Drills, Offense/Defense, and
Game Day. Skills and Drills will focus on individual development
with lots of drills to help perfect the basics. Offense/Defense will
focus on team concepts of offensive and defensive strategies.
Game Day will incorporate both prior weeks and is tailored to putting it all together in live action games. These one week camps are
designed to complement each other, and players are encouraged to

Encourage-Challenge-Reward! Join City Beach for the summer adventure camp of a lifetime! Our expert Camp Counselors provide a
fun and safe environment for your child to learn and grow with an
emphasis on fun. They will climb in our world class indoor Rock
Gym (no experience necessary), participate in kid-friendly facilitated games and activities, and build self-esteem and lasting
friendships. City Beach will make sure your child can’t wait to jump
in the car in the morning, and we’ll be here to greet them! Activities include: rock climbing, air hockey, basketball, volleyball, facilitated games, foosball, billiards, ping pong, ropes course, crafts,
badminton, bocce ball, and more! Healthy snacks and t-shirts provided. All day participants will need to pack a lunch or have the option of purchasing an additional, healthy meal plan through City
Beach. There is no after-care. Charges will be assessed by City

The gift of storytelling may be one of life’s most powerful and envied skills. A young storyteller learns to let go of inhibitions and
gains confidence to talk in front of an audience while having fun.
Participants will learn the art of narration using different storytelling techniques like Puppet Theater, shadow puppets, play acting,
and mime. Older children will learn how to write stories. They will
take home the story telling tools that they create during the week.

The Fundamental Essay

Students will learn the art of writing essays. Depending upon their
grade level, they will write three or five paragraph essays, with engaging beginnings and concise thesis statements. Students will
learn to use supporting points and relevant examples to make their
body paragraphs powerful. They also will learn how to plan and outline their essays properly before writing, as well as how to revise
their essays. Classes will be divided by grade level once enrollment
reaches 12. $10 material fee due to instructor on first day of class.

Prospectors Mystery Rock

You are going to be a Prospector (you know those people who
were always looking for gold). In this workshop you will get to excavate for valuable gems, fascinating rocks, and some ancient fossils. All are yours to keep. What hidden wonders will you find? The
identities of the 10 specimens found in your Mystery Rock have
been kept a secret from you. You will experience the thrill of discovery, much as prospectors did. You will be able to identify each one.
Your specimens are in a hard clay material the same as prospectors
found. You will have to get them out without breaking or scratching them. That’s not that easy. You will get an excavation tool, specimen brush, log book, sorting trays and labels. You will, as a
Prospector, record the color, both wet and dry texture, and its ability to float for each of the 10 specimens you dig out. Make an educated guess with our help to whether each one is a rock, gem, or
fossil. See how good you are. You will learn from us the exact name
and classification. We give you hands-on science...Prospectors style

comfortably in front of audience. The different countries will be introduced in the sessions. ‘Intro to Computer Science’ aims to bring
the well-known, fun, and game-like curriculum to our Gr K-6 students, and to motivate students to learn computer science to improve real world relationships, connections, and life. Laptop will be

actual courtroom trials! The trials will involve cases dealing with
negligence, malpractice, defamation of character, contract law, as

block programming and are ready to try real coding, this program
is for you! However, no previous coding experience is required.
Bootstrap teaches algebraic and geometry concepts through computer programming (Racket Code). At the end of the camp, students
have a complete workbook filled with word problems, notes and
math challenges, as well as a video game of their own design,
which they can share with friends and family. Students will also
learn image editing in order to personalize their characters in the
game. This class is specifically designed for students who enjoy

throughout the day into the fine arts portion of camp as we see campers unleash their inner artist. Each week has a different art

child every step of the way as they express themselves in the creative process. We focus on a culinary and fine arts every day to expand our horizons and give a chance to discover new experiences. We are offering a week of fun-filled learning! Campers will work
on their photography and camera techniques learning all sorts of
fun photography tips and tricks, interacting with other shutterbugs,

works, exploring your camera’s shooting modes and settings, operating antique apertures and shutter speeds to understand the latest
tools, exploring your camera’s focus mode and focus areas, and experimenting with lighting and flashes. Each attendee must have access to a functional digital camera. Nothing too fancy, but we

Counselors in Training (CIT)
9th-12th Grades
Looking to do something fulfilling this summer? Become a C.I.T.
and have fun while gaining valuable work experience at the same
time! As a Counselor-In-Training, teens volunteer at our youth summer camps and special event programs where they learn leadership
skills like: working effectively with children of all ages, lead recreational activities, and learn about the various ages and stages of
child development. These skills will help them mature as leaders
AND potential future employees of the City! There are more than
15+ volunteer work sites (day camps) located in Central Park and
throughout the City. Teens will be scheduled to volunteer specific
days/weeks and times – the volunteer assignments will be given
out on Tuesday, June 9th, 2015. Registrants receive on average earn
35 service hours per week.

Youth Service Corps is a summer program that offers a unique experience for teens. Participants will be performing community service while learning the principles of project management, work
ethic, leadership, team work, and civic engagement. Each morning
volunteers complete community work projects that include tasks
such as weed abatement, minor park equipment repair, painting,
landscaping, etc. Each afternoon, volunteers will participate in outdoor recreation activities that further build on the principles of
team work and leadership. Optional weekly field trips are offered.
Registrants receive on average earn 20 service hours per week.

Are you looking for morning, and/or afternoon options for your child? We offer extended care options of most of our Summer
Break Camps. Qualified staff will provide a variety of games, activities, and snacks! Extend your child’s Summer Break Camp by
registering for the AM, PM, or even both!
CENTRAL PARK
These extended care options are for parents who need care for
their children from 8:00-9:00AM and/or 3:00-6:30PM. for camps in
Central Park. Sign up for each week and morning or afternoon care
separately. Responsible staff will either walk or drive children
to/from any City of Fremont camp in Central Park. Campers will be
transported by City of Fremont Staff in City of Fremont Vehicles.
This extended care is for Summer Camps located at the Teen Center, Central Park Visitor Center, Fremont Community Center, Aqua
Adventure Water Park, Clean Water Classroom. Skate Park, Sports
Complex and Fremont Park Golf and Practice Center. (Tennis Center
will provide Extended Care for all Camps held at Tennis Center).

The Community Services
Department reserves the right to
cancel a class for any reasonable
cause. Should this happen, your fee
will be refunded in full or you may
transfer to any open class.
NON-RESIDENT FEES
For persons not residing in
Fremont, the fee is $5 in addition
to the published fee per class.
SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT
Seniors (Ages 60+) receive a 10%
discount on all classes except those
designated for seniors.
Requests for withdrawals/transfers
must be made in writing via email,
fax, in person, or our online form.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The City of Fremont and many local
business and organizations have
funded a grant program, which
provides financial assistance for
Fremont Residents. For information
regarding eligibility for reduced fees,

Aqua Adventure’s Family Friday Nights this summer from
4PM-8PM on the dates lusted. With fun in the sun and in
the water, you can’t go wrong! PRE-PURCHASED tickets
are available to avoid the ticket lines, at a special price of
only $7 each (price subject to change). Tickets purchased
the day of the event go on sale at the park at 11:00AM for
$8 each. Tickets are only good for the specific Family Friday
event date chosen and are non-refundable and non-transferable between Family Friday dates. Please bring your ID,
a copy of your receipt, and all group members to the front
