Lou Canellis–Scholarship Awards Guest Speaker and Board of Directors Elections
Join us as the MWFA celebrates Education, an association priority
On November 6th we will be holding our annual Board of Directors elections. Our nominees to date
are: Bob O’Brien/Certified Products, and Bob Baer/Abbott-Interfast. Anyone else interested in
running, please contact Nancy Rich (847-438-8338, [email protected]) prior to November 3rd. It
is important that companies come out and cast their ballot since the Board of Directors is an integral
part of your association.
We will also be awarding scholarships that evening. Thanks to the great support, of our membership,
we will be awarding $30,000 in scholarships. Scholarship winners have worked hard, so come out
and help us honor these students.
Our special guest speaker joining us this year will be Lou Canellis. Lou shares
his enthusiasm about sports with Chicagoans every night on FOX 32 News at
Nine. He has followed local teams his entire life and has an extensive sports
background.
In addition to his work on FOX Chicago, Canellis is living the dream with the
Chicago Bears. He is the TV host for Bears Game Day Live and Bears Game
Night Live on FOX Sunday mornings and Sunday nights. Canellis has been
going to Bears game since he was four-years-old, and has been a season ticket
holder since he was six-years-old. “Sweet Lou's” expertise on the Bears can also be heard on the
Roe Conn Show on WLS Radio, AM890.
Canellis' first dream job was as a member of the Chicago Bulls broadcasts on TV and radio. Canellis
worked on the sidelines and is well known for his post-game chats with Michael Jordan. He's also an
expert on real estate, hosting the TV show "Making Money in Real Estate."
A Loyola University graduate, Canellis considers himself a "South Sider," having been born and
raised in Oak Lawn.
