designed three-­‐legged office chair on parquet flooring. Parquet flooring symbolizes the company’s humble beginnings just as the chair does SC Johnson’s crea\ve spirit.
HF Johnson, Jr. sits with Frank Lloyd Wright and his
apprentice, Wes Peters, during the weight testing of a
dendriform column for the SC Johnson Administration
Building in 1937. The column needed to hold 12 tons
of weight in order to be used in the building design.
The test stopped after the column withstood 5 times
that weight.

Frank Lloyd Wright envisioned a globe displayed on the SC Johnson
campus. The first SC Johnson globe was installed in 1952. Thirty
four years later, employees banded together to present their
Chairman, Sam Johnson, with a replacement that still stands today
SC Johnson’s Golden Rondelle Theatre shown with
Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Research Tower in the
background. The Golden Rondelle was built for the
1964/1965 Worlds Fair in New York. It has been in
Racine since 1968, showing visitors various SC
Johnson-commissioned films like “Living Planet” and
the Academy Award-Winning “To Be Alive!”

transferred to Racine and repurposed to serve as SC
Johnson’s visitor’s center since 1968.
