Bus Route Map and Schedule Effective on January 1, 2015 Kenosha Area Transit App is now available for free on all I-phone and Android phones. Kenosha Area Transit Kenosha Area Transit Parking Lots: Monthly parking permits are required at the following City parking lots: • Lot # 21 - 57th St. & 8th Ave. • Lot # 6 - 21st Ave. & 63rd St. • Lot # 9 - 5th Ave. & 57th St. The cost is $25 per month. Permits can be purchased at Kenosha Transit, 4303 - 39th Avenue. METRA Commuter Lot Kenosha Electrical Streetcar Seven beautiful restored electric streetcars travel a two-mile loop, providing a scenic tour of the Lake Michigan shoreline, HarborPark, two historic districts, downtown business districts, and the METRA train station. Streetcar Winter Hours: (January 2ndFebruary 28th) Monday through Friday: Closed Saturdays and Sundays: 10:05 a.m. until 5:35 p.m. Winter Hours: (March 1st - March 31st) Monday through Friday: 10:05 a.m. until 2:05 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays: 10:05 a.m. until 5:35 p.m. Summer Hours: (April 1st - January 1st) Monday through Friday: 11:05 a.m. until 6:35 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays: 10:05 a.m. until 5:35 p.m. Fare: $1.00 Adult 50¢ Children age 5-12 Free age 4 & under. BUS PASS SALES OUTLETS Monthly Bus Passes can be purchased at the following outlets or by mail from Kenosha Transit. Checks payable to Kenosha Transit should accompany mail orders. Do not send cash. Bullen, Lance, Lincoln, Washington and Mahone Middle Schools. BOARDING THE BUS Board at marked bus stops wherever possible. Wave to the driver when you see your bus approaching. Double check to make sure you are getting on the right bus. If you are not sure, ask the driver for assistance. SPECIALIZED SERVICES All KAT buses are wheelchair accessible. If you require additional assistance a 24 hour notice is advisable. Lost passes need to be replaced by the passenger. Bus passes can not be shared. SATURDAY SUPER TRANSFER Bus and/or Streetcar Unlimited rides Saturday.............$3.50 Fares are subject to change with proper notice. WHILE YOU ARE RIDING Please observe the following rules and suggestions to ensure a safe and pleasant trip: 1. Save the front seats for senior citizens and people with disabilties. 2. Refrain from smoking, eating, drinking or littering. This includes electronic smoking devices. 3. Turn off your portable radio, MP3 player or tape/CD player, or use earphones so that the sound is limited to the individual listener. 4. Do not have distracting conversations with the bus operator; limit conversations to route information only. 5. Collapse your stroller before you board the bus and find a seat. 6. Large articles, packages, baggage, non-collapsible strollers and baby buggies that block the aisle and restrict movement of passengers are prohibited. 7. The only animals allowed are service animals or those in cages that will fit on your lap. 8. The use of improper language, boisterous behavior or fighting may result in a rider being prohibited from riding the bus. 9. No shoes, no shirt, no service. 10. No distribution of literature on Transit property. BUS SERVICE HOURS When the bus arrives, board and have exact cash fare, bus pass or token ready. Deposit change, dollar bills or tokens directly into the fare box. If you are using a pass, please show it to the driver each time you board. If you need to transfer, ask for it when you pay your fare. Kenosha Transit drivers do not make change. Monday thru Friday service hours are 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday service hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No service on Sundays. Bus service is not available on the following Holidays or on the days they are observed: • January 1st (New Year’s Day) • Memorial Day • Independence Day • Labor Day • Thanksgiving Day • Christmas Day TRANSFERS BIKE RACK PAYING YOUR FARE One free transfer may be issued when paying your fare. Please ask for your transfer when boarding. These conditions apply to the use of transfers: • Tell the driver when you board that you need to transfer. • Good only until time shown. • Good only on day of issue. • Must be handed to the driver upon boarding. • Kenosha Transit does honor Western Kenosha County Transit transfers. This is a special advertising section for the Kenosha Transit buses now have bike racks on the front for your convenience. You’re responsible for the securement of your bike. Kenosha Transit assumes no responsibility for your bike. LOST & FOUND Can only be picked up at Kenosha Transit with proper ID.
