For the third year running, JATO, the world leader in automotive advisory and research services, rewards Fiat Automobiles’ low emission levels. But there’s more: for the first year, this record is also held - as a group - by Fiat Group Automobiles. Significant records, built on highly-innovative technologies characterised by great commitment to raising awareness for a more attentive and more responsible use of cars. To help its customers improve the efficiency of their fuel consumption and their driving awareness, Fiat has developed eco:Drive. It is a user-friendly software application - which, using the on-board Blue&Me™ system, allows a reduction in CO2 emissions and costs by up to 15% by constantly monitoring quality of driving. For fleet customers, a special application of eco:Drive is available: eco:Drive Fleet. eco:Drive Fleet collects all the eco:Drive data of each individual Fiat vehicle in the fleet in a single, extremely intuitive panel and makes it possible to analyse them at a glance. Fleet managers can aggregate the data as they see fit, easily displaying trends and forecasts for the vehicles, in order to verify and plan the improvement of their efficiency. 3 FLEET MANAGEMENT IS THUS EASIER. For every vehicle, eco:Drive Fleet collects and organises a lot of important information: • average fuel consumption • total mileage • the mileage and days left on the lease contract • eco:Index, i.e. the driving efficiency of the vehicle • the amount of money saved thanks to eco:Drive • the reduction in CO2 emissions obtained thanks to eco:Drive. 4 THE FLEET MANAGER CAN ALSO... •create groups of drivers and/or vehicles, to monitor their progress more simply •take part in the on-line community, eco:Ville, giving their company’s environmental commitment greater visibility. 5 INDIVIDUAL AWARENESS IMPROVEMENT FOR EVERYONE. eco:Drive allocates each driver an eco:Index and also gives them intelligent step-by-step tutorials, which reproduce the less efficient journeys and provide customised tips, just as though there were an “eco driving” instructor available at all times. Drivers thus become the author of their own improvement. 6 Environmental awareness and driving quality are also developed through healthy competition among the drivers in the fleet, thanks to eco:League, which compares the drivers and their data. The aim is to achieve the highest eco:Index. The whole company will be able to see the competition results on a dedicated eco:League web page. eco:Drive Fleet will show every one of your vehicles becoming more efficient, allowing you to see the overall saving of the fleet achieving significant figures over the course of the year. EFFICIENT DRIVING IN JUST A FEW SIMPLE STEPS. 7 ALL YOU NEED ARE FIAT VEHICLES FITTED WITH BLUE&ME™ TO START. The Fleet Manager... THE DRIVER... 1.Creates an account for his/her company/fleet on www.fiatfleet.com/ecodrive quickly and free of charge 2.Invites drivers of Fiat vehicles fitted with Blue&Me™ to join the programme (if possible, inviting them individually: they will receive an e-mail with all the instructions) 3.Enters some general details about his/her fleet 4.On the panel, adds new drivers, creates groups, etc. 5.After a few days, they can start assessing the results and forecasts, aggregating data as necessary. 1.Downloads the eco:Drive application free of charge onto their computer from www.fiat.com/ecodrive and inserts any USB storage device into the Blue&Me™ port of the Fiat vehicle. 2.All the information about their driving style - acceleration, gear changes, speed - is saved automatically. 3.They then insert the storage device into their computer. The information is uploaded to the eco:Drive application, which converts the data into figures and useful information, such as the mileage, the CO2 emissions and the amount of money saved. 4.The general performance information is brought together in eco:Drive Fleet. ECO:DRIVE ON BOARD. Installing eco:Drive in the car •requires only Blue&Me™, (download updated version HERE) and no additional hardware • does not entail any risks • does not require any technical assistance • takes just a few seconds... ...following these simple step-by-step instructions. 8 1.Make sure that the car’s clock displays the correct time and date. eco:Drive needs this information as a point of reference. 2.Insert the storage device to be used for eco:Drive into the USB port of the Blue&Me™. 3.Turn the ignition key without starting the engine. eco:Drive will automatically be installed and the on-board display will show the message «UPDATE COMPLETED». Press the “SRC/OK” button on the steering wheel controls. 9 4.Remove the USB storage device. 5.Start the engine. After a few seconds, the on-board display will show the message “ECODRIVE ON”. eco:Drive is ready to go. 6.Insert the USB storage device back into the car to start recording travel data. At this stage, the driver must not modify his or her driving habits: eco:Drive needs to understand how he or she normally drives in order to help him or her improve. 7.When the engine has stopped, wait between four and five seconds and then remove the USB storage device. The travel data has been recorded and the driver can now insert the storage device in his or her computer. 8.Repeat for at least 5 days, in order to collect a significant series of journeys and driving behaviours. FAQ Wouldn’t standard “black boxes” be enough to collect the travel details? For a start, the data collected by eco:Drive via Blue&Me™ is much more accurate and reliable, since it is obtained through dialogue with the engine control unit. What’s more, eco:Drive provides extremely clear and straightforward information, which is easy to process using eco:Drive Fleet. Also, there’s the driving quality assessment (eco:Index), the tutorials, and eco:Ville. ...and don’t forget that downloading eco:Drive is free! 10 Does the fleet manager need to install anything on their PC? That’s another advantage: there is no need to install anything at all. The fleet manager can see and manage the updated data of their own fleet simply by logging on to eco:Drive Fleet from any computer connected to the Internet. And what about drivers? They need to download the eco:Drive application from the website. It’s an Adobe Air application, which can be installed on both Mac and PC without any risk. In the event of any installation problems, please refer to your IT department or write to [email protected]. 11 How often do you need to download the data? The storage devices can store data for several months, but to keep them up-to-date, it is advisable to download them once a week. Can I add new drivers to my fleet at any time? Yes, it’s very easy. Simply invite them on the “Drivers” panel of eco:Drive Fleet. Alternatively, you can always keep an invitation e-mail at the ready and forward it to the new driver directly from your PC, even without accessing the panel. I don’t have any Fiat vehicles in my fleet (yet): can I still test the dashboard of eco:Drive Fleet? Yes. You can discuss this with a Fiat Corporate Fleet Solutions account manager (find him HERE): you could try out a Fiat car fitted with Blue&Me to see the benefits of eco:Drive Fleet for yourself and organising an eco:League. Can I use eco:Drive Fleet if there are also cars in my fleet from other brands? Yes. eco:Drive Fleet helps forecast the savings achieved by vehicles enabled for eco:Drive for the rest of your fleet, allowing you to understand the economic and ecological effect of responsible driving. 12 Are the details of my company and my drivers secure? Of course: the data is processed in full compliance with privacy laws. Can different users drive the same car? Yes, but every driver will need their own storage device, in order to keep the data collected separate. On which Fiat cars can I use eco:Drive? 500, Grande Punto, Punto Evo, Bravo, Qubo, Croma, Doblò. And also on the following Fiat Professional vehicles: Grande Punto Van, Punto Evo Van, Bravo Van and Fiorino. 13 Can I give the same USB storage device to different drivers in my fleet? Yes. If they use the same USB storage device but drive different cars then there is no problem because the data will remain separate. If on the other hand several people use the same storage device on the same car, the first person to download the storage device onto the computer will find everyone’s data on it. For convenience, we suggest that each driver has their own personal storage device. LEARN MORE AT: www.fiatecodrivefleet.com Does the USB storage device always have to be inserted into the car while driving? It is advisable. This way, all the travel data for that driver is recorded and there is no risk of confusing it with that of others. The car can in any case save up to eight hours of travel data without the USB storage device being inserted. This data will then be saved onto the first storage device which is inserted. After eight hours, the oldest data will be deleted. How can eco:Drive be turned off? If you don’t wish to record the data regarding a specific trip, simply turn off eco:Drive from the car’s Blue&Me™ menu. It can be turned back on later whenever you want.
