General Chamber meetings are held monthly on the first Thursday ( except during the Loudonville Fair) at 7:30 am at Hanover House Diner. This early hour serves those who need to get to work. The atmosphere is casual and those who need to leave before the one hour meeting is concluded are welcome to do so. The meeting is open to Chamber members and others who have a dedicated interest in promoting Loudonville and Mohican area interests. Bethany Paterson will give details on a new business, MUGS, when she speaks at the June 7 general meeting of the Chamber. At these general meetings, new Chamber members are introduced, reports are given on Chamber activities, and various announcements pertaining to this area are given by those present. VOLUNTEERS: CHAMBER’S SPECIAL PEOPLE Janet Seabold, who has been caring for the horticulture at the Visitors Center near the State Park, has volunteered to weed and care for the Memorial Garden. The Memorial Garden was created by Jerrilynn Leckrone through the Chamber to honor deceased area merchants within the community and is on the west side of the Museum’s log cabin in Central Park. Janet is an accredited flower show judge and also volunteers as a companion for Hospice. Lisa Christine, former Chamber Board member, continues to handle paper work with Zambelli Fireworks and the Loudonville Fire Department so that the Mohican area will have a stunning fireworks display on July 4. The cost of the fireworks is $16,500. Kelley Diehl has once again accepted the chairmanship of Thunder in Paradise. This bike show will be held on June 16 on Loudonville’s Main Street. She is lining up musicians to perform in Central Park as well as motorcycle swap meet vendors. Shirts and other items will be available. Food vendors will also be in Central Park. Jim Gardner, owner of Mohican Tavern joined the Chamber and soon agreed to serve on the Car Show committee for July 7. Joining Jim on the Chamber Car Show Committee are Virginia Reynolds, Jeanne and Doug Leckrone. Loudonville Fair Board will be appointing their committee at the next Fair Board Meeting. Volunteers Virginia Reynolds and Robert “Mick” McDaniel are updating the community bulletin board in Central Park. It is only with dedicated volunteer help that your Chamber can accomplish its goals and carry out its huge agenda of planned events. We are proud of what these volunteers and others accomplish! Mission: “To enhance, stimulate, and promote well planned economic growth, community resources, and educational opportunities so as to develop a thriving community in which to live, work, and learn.” BEAUTIFICATION OF LOUDONVILLE WILL BE IMMENSE Sixty-one flowering hanging baskets and planters (a record number) will beautify business locations in Loudonville this summer. Merchants, townspeople, and even out-of-towners donated funds for the beautification project. Richardson’s Greenhouse and Landscaping is at this time nurturing the plants and will continue to water and feed them after they are placed on the streets of Loudonville. SPECIAL SERVICES TO CHAMBER MEMBERS A little known perk of being a Chamber member is that if a business has a Loudonville Mohican special open house or event coming up, the announcement can go out to all Chamber of Chamber members on the Chamber office’s email. That is the same way this Commerce, Inc. newsletter is being circulated. Contact Jeanne, office manager, and use this perk to your advantage. 131 W. Chamber members may fill out an application and be granted space 44842 depending on timeliness of the event and space restrictions. Non Chamber members will be charged $10.00 for this privilege.
