1. What is the purpose of this consultation?
The purpose of this consultation is to seek comment from
local residents about the recent paramotor trial at Pinnaroo
Point, Hillarys.
4. When does the community comment period
close?
The comment process will commence on Monday 4 May
2015 and conclude on Monday 25 May 2015.
2. Who is being consulted on this project?
5. What happens next?
The City is directly consulting with the local community who
reside within 300m of Pinnaroo Point.
The results of the community comment period will be
collated and presented to Council in July 2015. Council will
consider the results of the trial along with the consultation
results and determine whether the paramotor use at
Pinnaroo Point will continue.
Whilst specific stakeholders have been identified, anyone
interested in the project can also be involved in the
consultation by completing the online Comment Form via
the Community Consultation section on the City’s website
joondalup.wa.gov.au
3. What has happened during the trial?
The City has worked with a paramotor club to write a site
management plan which the club must adhere to in regards
to their use of the site. The site management plan directs
when the club can take off and land and how they must fly.
Conditions include restriction on flying over houses and built
up areas and take off and landing procedures. The site
management plan has been written to significantly reduce
the impact of the activity on local residences as well as the
general public and the environment.
