Dear Members,
It’s hard to believe the holiday season is already upon us. November brings
us lots of exciting and fun family activities at Innisbrook. Stop by the Indaba
Spa to receive fall-inspired treatments that will rejuvenate you as the
temperatures cool.
On November 11 at 7 p.m., join Innisbrook and the NFL’s fight against hunger
at the Taste of the NFL Wine Dinner at Packard’s Steakhouse. Enjoy a 6-course
dinner each paired with a wine that will be available for purchase at the event.
Each bottle purchased will donate 2.5 meals to a local food bank. Contact
Packard’s to reserve your spot today.
This Thanksgiving holiday, let Innisbrook do the cooking. Our food &
beverage team is making Thanksgiving a breeze with several dining options
this holiday. Members can choose from Packard’s Steakhouse, a buffet at
Edinburgh Ballroom, a traditional turkey dinner at Market Salamander Grille
or Thanksgiving dinner to-go.
For more information about our family or holiday activities, please contact
your membership office.

From the Desk
of the Director of Golf:
Valued Members,
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your patience and understanding this
summer as we restored the Copperhead back to its original design. I know it has been
frustrating not having the Copperhead to play for the past six months but I’m confident that
once you see the finished product you will agree that it was worth the wait. Mother Nature
was not very cooperative this summer as we dealt with record amounts of rain and cloudy
days in July and August. Despite these challenges, I’m happy to report that in no way did it
disrupt the quality of work by our team. If fact, one could argue that it only made it better.
The teamwork that I witnessed this summer, as everyone pulled together under adverse
conditions, was something we should all be extremely proud of. Our team was persistent and
determined and did not let the rain and wet conditions get them discouraged; their hard work
and determination will be evident come November 27, when the course reopens.
Our new Member Guest Tournament in January is filling up fast! To date, we have 40 Members
committed to play, leaving only 20 spots left. If you would like to participate, please call,
email or see Christine in Membership as soon as possible to secure your spot. We’re looking
forward to a spirited event and expect it to be sold out shortly!

In addition to the Member Guest Tournament, I would like to personally invite you to our new
and improved Innisbrook Merchandise Holiday Sale that will take place at Inverness Hall on
December 4, 5 and 6. The hours will be Friday 6-9pm, Saturday 12-6pm, Sunday 12-3pm. This sale
will be bigger and better than ever and it’s also our way of showing our appreciation and to say thank
you for your commitment to Innisbrook. I hope to see you there!

Table Talk with Chef Andrew Coniglio
Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Most families gather around for Thanksgiving Dinner and spend all that time in the kitchen to
prepare a feast to remember. The one problem that is usually looked over is the Cranberry
Sauce. Nothing looks worst on your beautiful table than a can of cranberry sauce that you
can still see the ridges from the aluminum can. This month I will share a quick and simple, but
good, recipe for a cranberry sauce you can be proud of.
Ingredients
• 12 Ounces- Frozen Cranberries
• 1 Cup- White Sugar
• 1 Cup- Orange Juice
• 2 Each- Cinnamon Sticks
• 1 Teaspoon- Ground Nutmeg
Instructions
2. Add cranberries and cook on low-medium heat for about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally with
wooden spoon or rubber spatula.
3. Remove from heat, take out cinnamon sticks and leave at room temperature for dinner service.

Nature Watch Racoons
Written and photographed
by Golf Operations Dave Noel
pipeline | 25
Raccoons are one of Florida’s most common urban animals, frequently seen around parks,
campsites and homes. Under most circumstances they are fun to watch and harmless when
left alone. Problems arise because people find it difficult not to feed them. Raccoons are highly
intelligent animals that will eat practically anything. The word ‘raccoon’ is thought to be derived
from an American Indian word meaning ‘one who scratches with his hands.’ Because raccoons
use their hands to search for food, both on land and in water, there is a commonly held belief
that raccoons always wash their food before eating it. Even the raccoon’s Latin name ‘lotor’
means ‘the washer.’ However the belief is not true. The most likely explanation for the washing
behavior is that raccoons are not washing the food but feeling for frogs and crayfish beneath
the surface. Studies have shown that the dabbling behavior, we interpret it as washing, is a
stereotyped behavior pattern used for searching for aquatic food in the wild. Raccoons are
serious predators on nesting birds and sea turtle eggs. On prime turtle nesting beaches park
staff patrol the beach early in the morning to locate turtle crawls and identify nest sites. You
may notice sandy areas marked with a wooden stake and covered wire mesh. These are turtle
nests that have been covered in an attempt to stop raccoons digging up the eggs.
