The District Fellowship Committee of R.I., together
with the District Executive Committee of Inner Wheel,
with the sponsorship of ITFR and in agreement with the
Rotary Clubs of Rovereto, Vicenza Berici and Riva del
Garda, is organizing an:
OPEN INTERNATIONAL TENNIS TOURNAMENT
In Malcesine (Verona-Italy) on Lake Garda, at the Club
Hotel Olivi, located in the Val di Sogno (Via Gardesana,
160), on Thursday 24th, Friday 25th, Saturday 26th
and Sunday 27th of September 2009.
The matches will be played from 9.00 a.m. until evening
with, if necessary, floodlighting; at least five courts with
be available (one of which is covered).
Rotarian tennis players (of all abilities) can take part in
the singles and doubles matches.
Rotarian and Inner Wheel members can participate in
both the singles tournament and, if necessary, in the
mixed doubles.
The matches will be played using
balls.
All competitors must follow the timetable of play which
will be displayed on a board the evening before the start
of the competition by the Director of the Tournament,
who will also prepare the tournament schedule for the
competition.
The fee for participating in the singles competition is €
50.00 (fifty); and for the doubles matches it is € 25.00
(twenty-five) for each player.
For the singles male competition there will be two tournaments: one for players over 60 and one for players
under 60, it will be a knockout competition.
The players who are defeated in the first matches will be
able to participate in a “consolation” tournament with
prizes. The mixed (male and female) doubles competition will take place dependant on the time available.
The matches will take place in accordance with the
three set rule, with a tiebreak, and the rules of the Tennis Federation will be applied.

The entry fees have to be paid by Thursday 24th September 2009 at the Tournament Secretaries Office. (Fees
must also be paid by entrants who withdraw from the
competition without giving prior notice to the organisers.)
For every category there are prizes to be won. The
awards will be made at the end of the competition.
All in friendship, good and less good!
The CLUB HOTEL OLIVI offers great
opportunities. It is located in a perfect spot in a tranquil location near
Lake Garda and not far from the city
of Malcesine, which is a very popular
tourist centre.
The hotel fees have been specially
negotiated and are worth considering.

A) By car: from the A22 motorway
(exit in Affi), follow signs for Garda, take the secondary road alongside the lake and drive North in
the direction of Val di Sogno and
Malcesine;
B) By train: to Rovereto railway station and transfer by bus to Malcesine;
C) By plane: Verona or Brescia Airport; transfer to be advised by the
hotel.

each other in a pleasant atmosphere, the organisers will propose three venues during the evenings of Thursday, Friday and
Saturday at different, local, typical restaurants of the area, possibly with the minimum of travelling by car.
