1 Drive System
1.1 FRONT PTO
The front PTO features counter clockwise rotating, 6
spline PTO shaft and is able to transmit 100 % of
engine power.

2 HYDRAULICS
2.1 SELECTIVE CONTROL VALVES
- SCV
The selective control valves provide a full range of
features to meet customers’ exact requirements.
Note: if not already installed, SCV mounting kits (see
at the end of this section) and control lever kits
(see operator’s station section) have to be
ordered in addition
The 105 SCV has three positions.
The 205 and 305 SCV’s have a four position double or
single acting function in the cab using lever.
The lockout device allows the lever to be locked into
raise, lower or neutral position.
205 Series SCV
In addition to the features of the 105 series valve, the
205 series valve offers a float position.
ISO couplers are mounted to each SCV.
105 Series SCV
This valve features:
• A 3 position lever control.
• Flow of up to 60 l/min is available through
the valve.
• A load check valve on the raise/extend port
prevents loader and implement linkage creep.

Quick Couplers
305 Series SCV
In addition to all of the features of 205 series SCV’s
the 305 offers:
• Selectable detents allow the switching between
“No detent”, ideal for loader operation, and
“Mechanical detent”, for continuous hydraulic
motor operation.
• The control dial is located on the SCV and may be
reached from the operator’s seat.
• Neutral start protection releases lever to neutral
when the engine is switched off.
• A hydraulic detent, where the SCV lever will
remain selected until a pre-set pressure is reached.

Description
Set of 2 quick couplers
Dust protection for quick couplers
The dust protection kit for quick couplers has to be
ordered depending on the number of SCV’s mounted
to the tractor - one is needed for each SCV. The kit
includes the dust protection cover, tubes, connections
and seals to equip for one SCV.
Furthermore a SCV oil spillage reservoir is needed
because when connecting or disconnecting quick
couplers, especially under pressure, there always leaks
a small amount of oil from the system. This reservoir
collects these oil leaks and therefore avoids a soiled
rear of your tractor, where dust and particles easily
adhere.

Battery cut-off switch
Performance and power are very important for
your daily work with agricultural machinery, but
sometimes power needs to be cut off. For
example, when the tractor is left unattended or
during welding operations, when special safety
measures need to be considered, the battery
should be shut down.
Therefore John Deere offers a battery cut-off
switch for field installation. This kit protect the
battery from damage resulting from short circuits
as well as from discharging due to monitors or
radios left switched on when the engine is turned
off. As a visual status indicator a LED lamp is
turned on when battery is connected.
In addition to this, a conversion kit is available
allowing to operate the battery cut-off switch
conveniently from inside the cab and to react even
more quickly in case of emergency. Please
consider that in some countries it is mandatory for
insurance reasons to use this type of battery cutoff switch.

The comfortable, soft-moulded instructional seat,
complete with backrest, is located to the left of the
operator. Due to the overall roominess of the cab, the
instructional seat has excellent access with plenty of
head and shoulder clearance along with large leg-room

Telescopic Rear View Mirrors
The additional rear view mirror is installed on the
right-hand side of the rear window (in direction of
travel). It provides an excellent view on swinging
drawbar and rear-end attachments.
Telescopic mirrors offer manually adjustable
telescopic arms with manually adjustable mirrors. The
mirror mounts are offset on the stem to allow for
further adjustment and better head clearance when
entering the cab.

A performance monitor is available for all 5020 series
tractors with PowrQuad Plus transmission.
It can be installed on the upper right “A” post in the
cab and is connected directly to the tractor’s electrical
system via the on-board CAN-BUS communication
link. This dedicated system allows the monitor to be
integrated with other tractor systems.
Loudspeakers and Antenna
The unit features:
• Accurate "distance travelled" measurement *
• Display of true forward speed **
• Programmable implement width function allows
accurate measurement of area covered *
• Measurement and display of wheel-slip %, both
numerically and graphically, combined with visual
and audible slip alarm. **

management tool to optimise work-rates.
• "Implement-up" and "Implement-down" mode
linked to the quick raise/lower switch so that the
headland travel distance is not counted when
accurate area measurement is required.
• Display of precise rear and front PTO speeds for
accurate monitoring of implement performance.
• Programmable service indicator allowing the
operator to select the number of engine hours to
the next service.
• An audible and visual signal indicates when
this time has elapsed.
• This allows optimum service intervals for
peak tractor performance.
• Variable illumination intensity ensuring that the
operator can read the monitor easily, even at night.
The accuracy of the points marked * will be greatly
enhanced if the performance monitor is used in
conjunction with a John Deere radar unit.

The field office for the 5020 series tractors is a large
portfolio pouch where papers, operator manuals, music
cassettes, personal notes and implements information,
or even a laptop computer can be stored. The entire
unit is removable to be carried like a brief case. Its

devices like mobile telephones, or laptop computers.

Cab air filters with activated carbon media are now
available for 5020 Series tractors. The filter kit
includes two activated carbon air filters and two
activated carbon recirculation air filters, installation
instruction and safety information.
These filters are a combination of dust and odour filter
in one providing high efficiency and performance
without air flow restriction in the cab.
This results in:
• less irritation of eyes, nose and throat,
• higher driving comfort,
• a cleaner cab and
• improves the operator’s working environment
The high-performance three-coat media filters 3
micron particles with more than 99 % efficiency.
Especially for plant protection and fertilizer
operations, powerful cab air filters are needed. The
amount of smallest dust particles and gaseous
substances is reduced within the cab.

for the upper wagon hitch. The holder is a convenient
