Italian Cars at Pocono
For the 19th year, car and motorcycle lovers were
able to enjoy the most spectacular and largest
three day Italian automotive gathering in North
America. Le Belle Macchine d’Italia event, set
against the majestic and serene backdrop of the
Pocono Mountains of Eastern Pennsylvania provided three days of pure excitement. The first day,
which was the only part open to the public was
the”Concorso
d’Eleganza”,
which was a

The following

for
only the lovers, owners, and club members, by invitation only.
The track event was great whether you were driving on the track or not, there was plenty of excitement; Lamborghini was even offering rides for
charity in the Gallardo and Murcielago!
As in the past we were given the opportunity to
meet some of the staff from Lamborghini that
create these awesome automobiles, among them
were Rene Sueltzner, James DelConte, Ehren
Bragg, and special guest Valentino Balboni. As
would anyone expect, this group from Lamborghini was fun and extremely pleasant to talk to,
making many of us even prouder to be Lambor-
ghini owners. Lamborghini also brought with
them the Murcielago movie car from “Batman
Begins” which was another nice highlight to the
show on Pocono mountain!

Kent made the drive once again with fellow Pennsylvanian and Italian
car enthusiast Leo Rodriguez and his 1985 Ferrari 308 GTSi QV.
The Italian Car Festival also had on display an extraordinary group
of vintage and contemporary Ferraris, Alfa Romeos, Fiats, Lancias,
and Maseratis. The motorcycle and scooter display area as well had
an eclectic selection of vintage and contemporary Ducatis, Moto
Guzzis, Bimotas, Moto Morinis, Benellis, Bimotas, and Vespas. This
was probably one of the largest such gatherings of Italian vehicles in
the state of Ohio.
Car show participants were also seen enjoying food (pizza, sausage
and pepper sandwiches, calzones, pasta, etc.) from the 50+ food
vendors and entertainment from the 19th Annual “Stark County
Italian-American Festival” that the car show is held in conjunction
with.
“Best of Show” honors went to a very rare 1969 DeTomaso Mangusta owned by Motorcar Portfolio, a dealer of antique and classic
automobiles in Canton, Ohio.

FLAWLESS!!! THIS DIABLO HAS BEEN BABIED AND PAMPERED.
-Fully serviced from well known and respected Lamborghini mechanic George Evans of Columbus, Ohio. New clutch, chain tentioners, valve adjustment, the full
engine service was done.
-The leather is perfect, not one nick, scratch, wear mark, nothing! Once a month, needed or not, a complete hand rubbed treatment of Rolls Royce hide
conditioner is applied to the entire interior. I cannot put into written words how perfect the interior is, I am very particular of the condition of my cars.
-The paint on the car is almost perfect, only 3 tiny stone chips on the front spoiler keep it from being a 10 out of 10! It is otherwise in perfect condition.
-My cars are kept in a climate controlled, dehumidified garage, this Diablo was even kept up on a hoist to kept it from the concrete floor.
-The bottom of the car, wheel wells, and the engine are completely spotless; having a hoist has allowed me keep the entire car spotless.
-Just installed a stainless steel Quick Silver exhaust, the original is included with the car.
-All included: original Lamborghini car cover, toolkit, air canister, books, battery tender.
The purchase of my white Diablo roadster is the only reason this one has to go, a decision which took me well over enough to make, but I decided that I just
don’t need two white Diablo’s.
Without a doubt this has to be one of the best condition Diablo’s in America! (references available)

Technical Talk - Wheels & Tires
Ever drive down the interstate at 70mph and get that annoying sensation of shake and shimmy in the steering
wheel of your car? Sometimes, the vibration is so apparent that the dash and seats start to shake. Wheel
vibration is most typically caused by wheel and tire assemblies that are out of balance. With the everincreasing sizes of tires and wheels, even improper mounting of the tires to the rim can cause wheel imbalance leading to vibration.
How can such a problem be solved? Using high-performance tire mounting and wheel balancing equipment
in conjunction with a well-trained technician, a smooth running, and vibration-free ride can be insured.
What is high-performance wheel balancing? In the past, people went to large chain-store type tire vendors,
bought their wheels and tires, had them mounted and went on their way. Often, places like tire wholesalers,
large price clubs, and gas stations do not have the specialized tire and wheel handling equipment for higher
end sports and luxury vehicles. Namely, the type of equipment needed is Hunter Engineering's TC3500 Tire
Changer and the GSP9700 Road Force Wheel Balancer. Unless your tire and wheel outlet has such machines, do a u-turn and walk out.
The TC3500 tire mounter grabs the rim with soft, polymerized rubber mounting pads on the INSIDE of the
wheel. Once the wheel is properly mounted to the machine, the tire's bead is broken using two polymer
rubber wheels that ROLL in conjunction with the wheel assembly. Most chain-type tire stores use hydraulically operated steel shovels to perform the bead-breaking task. When such steel blades contact the wheel,
they often ride along the edge of the rim, scratching it permanently. The Hunter unit avoids such a situation
altogether by utilizing the air-over-hydraulic roller wheels. Next, the mounting head on a Hunter unit is
made of the same polymer material, preventing lip damage as the beaded is rolled onto the wheel.
Regarding wheel balance, it is imperative that one uses a Hunter GSP9700 Road Force balancer. The
GSP9700 utilizes two data arms that measure, exactly, the wheel dimensions. No more using a plastic caliper, measuring tape, or other crude means to determine wheel size. The computerized arms measure it to
the tenth of millimeter.
Now, since the data arms are already using wheel dimensional information for calculations, rim run out,
spoke location, and lateral force variation can be measured and calculated. Since spoke location is known,
the wheel weights can be mounted behind the spokes so they are not even visible from the street!
Most importantly, road force balancing a wheel assembly simulates real world driving conditions because a
750lb load roller assembly is placed on the wheel WHILE it is spinning on the balancer spindle.

The main purpose of the Midwest region is to provide a resource for fellow Midwest owners, and to get owners together on our website, events, and other Lamborghini related interests. Until recently many of us thought that Lamborghinis in
this area were extremely rare, but we are finding that there are many owners in the
Midwest, we just don't know each other; an aim of this region is to change that.
Currently we are in contact with almost 200 owners in the Midwest and other parts
of the country, with your help we can extend that contact base and build our community even more; please take a moment and update us with your current contact
info and that of any other Lamborghini owners that you may know; see below (this
information is kept confidential to Lamborghini Club America).
Lamborghini Club America would like to acknowledge the sponsorship of this newsletter by Evans Automotive, Complete Hydraulic, and Lamborghini Troy. Without
their sponsorship we would be unable to provide this newsletter to Lamborghini
Owners in the Midwest Region.
I appreciate your time in reading this newsletter and I look forward to meeting
more Lamborghini owners!
