An Update From Our President
As hard as it is to believe, yet another end of a school year is upon us. While we turn the page
on the ‘11-’12 school busing season, I am pleased to report that it has been another successful
one for the entire Rohrer Bus company. Because of the diligent and responsible work from each
one of our dedicated employees, we have been able to safely deliver each one of our customers’
students - over 15,000 of them!
While enjoying your time away from our company over the next few months, please keep us, our
values, and our customers close in your thoughts. After all, August will be here before we know
it and we are looking forward to having you back safely and properly certified to embark on a
John Schrantz new school year. On behalf of all the management team here at Rohrer Bus, I thank you for
another great year and am looking forward to a seeing you again in the Fall!
Be Safe,
John

News From Our Safety Department
District
Safety
Meetings
The safety department held three (3) Safety Meetings within each district over the past
school year. The subjects covered were: (1) Reporting Procedures, (2) Bullying Behavior,
and (3) Backing, Parking, and Intersections.
Seven (7) districts reached attendance of 82% or greater. These districts are to be
commended for their efforts and cooperation in making these Safety Meetings a success.
Attendance at these meetings demonstrates our drivers & supervisors commitment to
making Rohrer Bus a safer, better company. The following districts deserve to be recognized:
Halifax, Lower Dauphin, Northern York, South Middleton, Susquenita,
Upper Dauphin, and
the Full Time Operational Drivers
Safe Driver Awards
Twelve (12) drivers have been selected by the PSBA &
Rohrer Bus to receive an award for their record of safety
while driving a school bus. The award is titled “Safely
Transporting Pennsylvania’s Future”. Drivers are judged on
number of years driving, consecutive years of safe driving,
attendance, & type of route. Awards are given based on five
(5) year increments. Rohrer Bus employees who receive this
award will be recognized at a later date. Congratulations to
all of our drivers who receive this award!

Accident/Incident Forms
At the beginning of the 2012/13 school year,
new accident/incident forms will be placed in all
vehicles for the use of drivers if an accident or
incident would occur. The new forms will provide
necessary information that can be utilized for following up on
the event. The information on the forms, along with pictures,
allows the Safety Department to minimize risk and provide
support for the driver. The incident form can also serve as a
replacement for the old “Passenger Injury” form.
Drivers should carefully complete the forms in detail so that
a clear picture of what occurred can be presented whenever
required. Rohrer Bus continues to refine safety procedures
and forms so that unnecessary risk is always avoided.
Regional Safety Workshop
On May 23, ten (10) members of the Rohrer Bus
management team attended a safety workshop on health
and safety risk assessments. Participants in the program left
with a greater ability to identify the pitfalls in their
organization’s safety program and the logic based tools
necessary to build an organization of balance and long term
success. The employees in attendance returned to Rohrer
Bus with the knowledge and interest of continuing to
improve the safety culture at Rohrer Bus for the benefit of all
employees.
Important Notices from Payroll
1.) If you work a light summer schedule, fixed dollar 401-K
deductions or extra federal withholding may prevent issuing
small paychecks. You may avoid this by submitting a new
W-4 form without extra federal withholding and/or by July 1
changing fixed 401-K deductions to a percentage of pay or
suspending contributions entirely for third quarter (July,
August, & September)
2.) If you close a bank account to which your payroll direct
deposits were going, please notify payroll immediately as
this could impact receiving your pay in a timely manner.
