A WORD FROM OUR STAFF CANTON BAPTIST TEMPLE EVENTS
A WORD FROM OUR STAFF
The rivalry between the Massillon Tigers and the
McKinley Bulldogs is a rivalry that has spanned
over 100 years. The rivalry is considered one of the
greatest rivalries in high school sports and is filled with
tradition, excellence, and plenty of passion. The week
leading up to the big game is filled with pep-rallies,
team and community events, and many other exciting
activities for the team and fans alike. We have had
the distinct privilege over the last 18 years to be a part
of this great sports rivalry with our annual Massillon
Mr. Chad Viront
McKinley Prayer Breakfast. The 18th annual prayer
H
igh School/Sports Dir.
breakfast sponsored by Canton Baptist Temple is
a chance for our church to impact two of our local
schools for Christ and will take place Wednesday, October 26, at 7:30am.
This year our special guest speaker will be Ted DiBiase, “The Million Dollar Man.”
Ted DiBiase has been involved in the world of professional wrestling his entire life.
His father was a professional wrestler, and Ted followed in his father’s footsteps
and became a wrestler himself. The WWF took notice as they had an idea for a
new character and developed Ted into the “Million Dollar Man.” Ted’s career as
a wrestler has taken him all over the world: Europe, Japan, India, Canada, and all
of the fifty states, including Alaska and Hawaii. Due to a neck injury several years
ago, Ted was forced to give up the physical side of professional wrestling. Ted
found new roles outside of professional wrestling as he has founded Heart of David
Ministries (for which he continues to travel the world as an evangelist furthering
the Gospel of Jesus Christ) as well as many other areas of ministry. If you are
interested in hearing the wonderful life-change that Ted experienced, there are
tickets available in the bookstore for $10 each.
Finally we are still in need of people who are willing to sponsor the breakfast
financially, as well as those who are willing to help serve. If you are able to help,
please contact Emily Luke in the church office (ext. 118) and express your interest
in being involved. Please be in prayer for this special event that God would change
lives during this special opportunity we have been given to reach out to two local
football teams.

Welcome!
Dear Church Family,
Thank you for honoring us last Sunday for
Pastor Appreciation recognition. We
count it a privilege to serve the Lord here
at CBT and appreciate each one of you.
This card is designed for everyone who
attends Canton Baptist Temple. It’s a way for
us to know whom we are serving and how
we’re doing. Please fill out both sides where

SPOTLIGHT ON MISSIONS
ELMER DEAL (Congo)
We are thankful that the Bib
le
Colleges in Lubumbashi an
d
Kolwezi are growing and we
are
working hard to add four cla
ssrooms in Lubumbashi. Be
cause
of space limitations, we ha
ve to
build two stories and that
is more
costly. We’re truly happy to
have
pastors that have Bible Co
llege
qualifications when they go
out
to start a new church. We
now
have 164 churches, all with
local
pastors and leaders. My go
al and
sincere prayer is that we wi
ll
have at least 200 churches
in my
lifetime.
