Our goal at Rev3 is to maximize the enjoyment for everyone at the race, and this includes the spectators! So, whether you’re competing, volunteering, or
spectating, we intend to make it a memorable experience.
There is so much going on throughout the park this weekend. Be sure to read the enclosed Schedule of Events that includes swim practices, course
overviews, Expo details, fun kid’s activities and ALL of the important race day details. We will again offer a unique Friday night park special exclusive to
Rev3 athletes, families, and volunteers.
In recognition of the tragic events that occured ten years ago on September 11th, 2001, Rev3 would like to take time to remember of all our fallen heros.
Revolution3 has partnered with Team Red, White, and Blue, who supports wounded verterans and their transformation back into society. We will be
selling American flags for families and spectators to have on the course on race day. Athletes will also be given a yellow ribbon tattoo to wear during the
race and our Full Rev athletes will have the opportunity to run down the finish chute with the American flag. We will do this in memory of all those who
were lost ten years ago, the soldiers who lost their lives fighting for our freedom, and those who continue to fight today.
On behalf of the Revolution3 Triathlon team enjoy Cedar Point and thanks again for adding Revolution3 to your race calendar.
Respectfully,

WELCOME TO SANDUSKY
Ohio’s Lake Erie Shores & Islands, from Sandusky to Put-in-Bay and beyond is the Midwest’s hottest vacation destination. This coastal gateway
combines natural beauty with rich history and fabulous attractions. The ultimate lake shore getaway is closer than you think, just a short drive from
most Ohio cities.
The Lake Erie Shores & Islands largest city, Sandusky, is a growing vacation destination. It benefits from
being home to the world-famous amusement park, Cedar Point. From its record-shattering collection of
roller coasters to four dedicated children’s areas including the all-new Planet Snoopy, there’s definitely a
thrill here for everyone.
Historic downtown Sandusky has been called the “gateway” to the Lake Erie Islands largely because of
seasonal cruise and ferry boats which transport passengers regularly between Sandusky, the Lake Erie
islands and the Canadian mainland. Adjoining the busy harbor, downtown features spectacular parks
with tropical gardens, magnificent architecture (including the largest concentration of limestone buildings in Ohio), and specialty shops with one-of-a kind treasures and sweet treats, and locally authentic
restaurants serving a variety of dishes sure to satisfy any appetite.
Although most known for its amusements, the area enjoys a rich culture, too. Several attractions explore
the area’s contributions throughout history, including its role in the Underground Railroad, Thomas Edison’s
birthplace and its maritime, fishing and wine-making legacy. Theater, concerts, heritage celebrations,

and holiday events fill the calendar throughout the year.
Sandusky, often called “Ohio’s Waterpark Capital,” has become a year-round playground for anyone looking for an entertaining escape. It
boasts four indoor waterpark resorts and one 18 acre, outdoor waterpark. The country’s largest indoor waterpark, Kalahari Resort, is joined by

Lake Erie Shores & Islands wouldn’t be complete without its beautiful islands. Kelleys Island, Middle Bass Island and South Bass Island, also referred
to by its village name Put-in-Bay, are easily accessible from the mainland. Passenger and automobile ferries, as well as an island-hopping cruise,
transport visitors to the islands.
Enjoy your stay and please contact us if you have any questions. We are here to help!

computers with 40 inch screens will be available for all spectators to use!
Do we have access to any post-race activities?
The post race food is for participating athletes only. There will be vendors at the park for spectators. Additionally, be sure to watch
the Jumbotron screens at the Finish Line for any spectator friendly activity updates.
If I know about a problem before the race officials, who can I speak to?
Please report any problems you may be aware of to ANY REV3 Staff Member, Race Official or Volunteer. Race Officials will be wearing Red USAT Polo Shirts and Volunteers will be wearing REV3 t-shirts.
How do I meet up with my athlete after the race?
It is best to establish a meeting spot prior to the race.
If they have problems during the race, will I be notified?
The individual that was designated as the emergency contact will be notified.
Fun Day Friday & Cedar Point Tickets:
Can I run across the finish line with them?
Yes! It’s best to position yourself at the beginning of the finishing line chute to run in with your athlete. Please be aware of other racers
around you…and SMILE!
Revoultion3 and Cedar Point are working to get our athletes a discounted ticket rate for the weekend. Updates on this will be posted
to our website at www.rev3tri.com
Cedar Point is opening their doors two hours early on Friday September 9 for Rev3 families and athletes ONLY! From 4pm-6pm come to

TBD. Don’t miss out on the fun before you rest for your race!
Pre and Post Race A.R.T.
Revolution3 has a team compromised of professional Active Release Therapists (ART) at all of our events for our athletes. Whether you
are preparing for an upcoming competition or recovering from the race, your session is always customized to fit your needs.
Where are the best locations to view the race and athletes?
The beach is open to anyone and a great place to watch the swim. The bike course is a two loop course if you would like to position
yourself on course to cheer. We recommend driving to the town of Milan, Ohio. Bikers will pass by at mile 20 and 60, giving you plenty
of time to make it back to transition for the big bike finish. Transition and the finish line is where you will find all of the action with our
announcers and rocking music!
What roads are closed or have restricted lanes?
First St. and Meigs St will have one-way traffic in Sandusky on race day. Shoreline, Water, Market, and Washington will be closed to thru
traffic.
We will have ART providers on site at the Rev3 Expo Friday-Sunday. On race day ART services will be from 12:00pm-12:00am. All ART
sessions will be on a first come first-served basis. All ART services are complimentary for athletes.

RACE PROGRAM
A MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD REFEREE:
Welcome to this USA Triathlon sanctioned event. You are racing under the USAT
Competitive Rules. In order to minimize misunderstandings on race day, I hope you
will take the time to read the following summary of the Position Violations, which
you know as the drafting rules.
•
I have reduced the Position Rules to the following concepts, which everyone
can remember:
•
Ride on the right side of your lane.
•
Keep three bike lengths between yourself and the cyclist in front of you.
•
Pass on the left of the cyclist in front, never on the right.
•
Complete your pass within 15 seconds.
•
If passed, you must drop completely out of the zone, to the rear, before
attempting to re-pass.
Remember you are racing in a USA Triathlon sanctioned event and there are USAT certified referees on the course to ensure fairness
in the competition. There will be NO WARNINGS if you commit a foul during competition. Triathlon is an individual event and you
must take personal responsibility to understand the rules and avoid penalties. At the end of the race all citations by the marshals are
reviewed by the Head Referee who then decides if a penalty should be assessed. The Head Referee’s ruling is final in the case of
Position Violations and there are no protests or appeals of Position penalties. Marshals commonly cite the following violations:
•
Position– riding on the left side of the lane without passing.
WORLD CHAMPION CONRAD STOLTZ
•
Blocking – left side riding and impeding the forward progress of another competitor
TRAINS CRAZY IN HIS AVI-QUEST’S.
•
Illegal Pass – passing on the right.
THE NEW ACTIVE MIDSOLE PROVIDES
•
Overtaken - failing to drop back three bike lengths before re-passing
•
Drafting – following a leading cyclist closer than three bike lengths and failing to pass within 15 seconds.

three violations, you will be disqualified. Be sure to check the penalty sheet before you leave the race site and have a chat with the
Head Referee if you have any questions.
Make sure your helmet is a CPSC approved model. All helmets legally sold in the US are CPSC approved but if you purchased your
helmet in a different country it might be illegal for use in sanctioned events.
While on your bike, always have your chinstrap securely fastened - before, during and after the event! The chin strap rule is easy to
follow, so don’t forget – that’s a DQ!

Wear your race numbers, don’t leave your trash on the course, and don’t carry or use any portable audio devices.

All that being said, I hope you have a great race, lots of fun, and achieve all your goals.

my fiance, Maik, and my little sister, Cameron, who both eat
