Obedience, what an awesome word from a parent’s perspective. If our kids would just be 100% obedient, life would be great — for them and us! But let’s look at the word “obedience” from God’s standards. Obedience: To do what I am asked to do immediately, completely, and willingly; following instructions. — Children’s Ministry Resource Bible What if we, as parents, and our kids were 100% obedient to God? In one box, draw a person who is not obedient to God. Include disobedient things he or she may do. Use word and thought bubbles to show disobedent things he or she might say and think. In the other box, draw a person who is totally obedient to God. What would his or her actions, words, and thoughts be like? As a family talk about why it’s important to be obedient and to do what is right. In some situations kids may be made fun of or bullied for obeying God. This is a picture of a young boy in a slum in Nairobi, Kenya. A fence separated this little boy and his home from three choices. On his side of the fence were his home and his family. On the other side of the fence was a large field with three groups of kids. 1. The first was a group of kids playing a game of soccer. 2.
