Groomsmen were Tom Archuleta, Jr., of Grand Terrace, CA; Eddie Archuleta of Colton, CA; Simon P. Steiner of Romeoville, IL; and Joseph Hernandez of Chicago. R. Brad Cowan of Chicago was the usher. The bride earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Western Illinois University and a Professional Certificate in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Fundraising from Northwestern University. She is pursuing her Masters of Business Administration from University of Illinois at Chicago and is a Major Gifts Officer for The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International in Evanston. The groom earned a bachelor's degree in Business Economics from University of California Riverside. He is a Staff Accountant for Moving Station, LLC in Chicago. The newlyweds met while playing flag football for Chicago Sport and Social. They reside in Chicago. said, "it is cool to be on a card, on a magazine cover, or in a video game. It validates you. It's awesome. Having an Upper Deck card circulating helps a lot with recognition. We collected cards as kids, mostly baseball cards." He told that his current favorite item to collect are jersey's of other player's. He said one reason he signed with Upper Deck was to insure fans that they were getting authentically signed items. He noted there are his forged autographs in circulation. "It's frustrating to see." Upper Deck was selling an official limited edition 2011 MLS soccer ball autographed by Donovan with his MVP inscription for $439.99. An online survey of other companies listed his signed jersey for $670 and a signed 8x10 framed photo for $119.99. There is a limited edition large poster signed and in a display case for $1,448. The highest end Donovan item was located at sportsmemorabilia.com who is selling a game-worn autographed and inscribed uniform including cleats at $13,157.50. The uniform was worn in a Los Angeles Galaxy game against the New York Red Bulls and comes with a letter of authenticity and safety hologram. "Landon Donovan has nearly single-handedly reinvigorated the sport of soccer in the U.S.," said Jason Masherah, Upper Deck vicepresident of marketing. Information from the Premier Athlete and Celebrity site indicates that Donovan receives anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 per speaking appearance. He was honored by ESPN in a ceremony held at Redlands East Valley two years ago, but he did not graduate from there. He spent his senior year at the U.S. Soccer Development Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He did play some matches for REV his junior year, enough to be named to the Parade Magazine All-American team, but most of that season he played on the U.S. National Under 17 team. He spent his freshman year at Redlands High and according to most reports was the Citrus Belt League MVP at REV in his sophomore year. Donovan told Top Drawer Soccer.com that he remembers as a high school freshman watching the seniors playing. He recalled the prep hierarchy, where the seniors taught the youngsters. "I do miss that. I wish I could have gotten to the point where I could have been a senior and paved the way for the younger guys. Those couple of years were some of the best memories of my life.
